A Prophetic Vision For The Next 100 Years

I read a lot of books on theology. This book is in the top three most important books I have read. The other two on my list establish important doctrine that this book "Heavy Rain" lays out the long term vision for. If you are a fairly mature believer, you are solid in your identity in Christ and you are operating in the gifts of the Spirit, this book will be invaluable in helping you see and find your place in the Church, the world, and in history. This book will bring down deeply entrenched paradigms that have encumbered the Kingdom of God. A poverty mentality is a short-term mentality. Short term thinking has impoverished the Church spiritually, intellectually, and materially. All of creation is groaning for the sons and daughters of God to start living with a long term vision. This book is a giant leap forward in that direction.

Critical of other ideas and not very open minded. The authors ideas did provoke some conversation in our small group though, most often on how we disagree with some points.

My biggest frustration is the authors tone. He's very dismissive of others ideas on some topics, which pushes readers away and gives them bias throughout the remainder of the book.

YES! Finishing this book made me want to shout, "HALLELUJAH!" It filled me with hope for the future and determination to seek God for His future plans for me.

Heavy Rain helped me understand why so many churches today, though well-meaning, are ineffective at carrying out the Great Commission. When they come into balance with the five-fold ministry of Ephesians 4, then all of the work can flow as God intended.

This book is worth your investment in both money and time. I know that I will read it again to glean all of its treasure.

Answer to many questions!

Working in ministry alongside my family we have been asking certain questions about the culture of honor, freedom and some shifts we have been feeling. In just the first few chapters so many questions were answered.

I recommend this book to any believer hungry for what God has in store for us and seeing Heaven come to Earth. Anyone who feels that we were called for more than to sit and wait for the world to end.

This gives such a wide perspective with hard work and research poured into it, yet easy to read and understand and catch the heart of what is written.
To me it is a book of answers, although the author humbly describes it as a journey to answers.

Heavy Rain is an excellent treatise about how God has called His people, His church, to actually transform the world in which we live, making disciples of all nations, "on earth as it is in heaven". The author not only argues persuasively from scripture as well as history, he gives many examples from his own personal experience, and from the remarkable impact of Bethel Church in Redding, California. I heartily recommend this book.

I've read several books by Kris Vallotton and I found this one to be my favorite by far. Kris has a positive prophetic outlook which I find refreshing and easy to align with. With 2016 election behind us, political and racial tensions escalating in the US and uncertainty in world in general, reading Kris' view on God's grace and mercy in our day is worth the read.

Such a powerful now word unpacked so well by Kris Volloton. I cannot begin to put into words how much this encouraged me to walk bravely and boldly into what God is calling me to do. This book is filled with hope and really helped to reassure me in confirmation that I'm hearing from the Lord well.
