Wow! Another great story by Nicholas Sansbury Smith! The Air People hear transmissions from survivors in Rio... can they bring them to safety in time?

X and his team are intent on bringing any and all survivors to their new island home. Their hope is to get humanity thriving once again. However, there are plenty of obstacles in their path... Can X keep the peace between his Air People and the Cazadores? Can he keep his own people on course?

X, Michael, and the others are facing quite a few challenges to keeping the peace and bringing more survivors into the fold. Even Miles is still at X's side despite advancing years. There are new horrors to overcome... and there are challenges within the ranks. The Hell Divers have their work cut out for them - their missions are never easy...

What I love about this book (and series) is that the characters are so very human. The heroes aren't perfectly good, yet the bad guys aren't totally bad either. We have varying types of people working towards the same goal - survival. The world is very clearly portrayed that you can see the surroundings as the Hell Divers search for the survivors. The action is intense and fast paced. There are also conspiracies, intrigue, moments of humor, a little romance... a little bit of everything all rolled into one story!

Each story in the series keeps building the suspense and adds even more to the original story. The people are wanting to repopulate Earth once again and hopefully unite humanity in its struggle to survive. The hope is to build a better life and future. While things may seem grim and dark, there is always hope. With each story, the author shines as the stories keep getting better and better! Nick simply outdoes himself each time!

While I was given an ARC, I am freely expressing my views, I have bought a copy in support of this wonderful author! I can't wait for the next book in this series... and all others he has going! This was an epic fun read! MORE, please!!!

~~Search for Surviors/Suspense/Possibility of Peace???

Once again I am amazed at the manner in which this author is able to write his novels and keep everything moving along at a fast pace. Normally by the time a reader gets to number 3 or 4 in a series, the writing is stale, plot has diminished, and the characters are 'ho-hum'. Well, this one is the sixth in this series and there is no let up...Not for one minute and not even for one second.

Xavier is now King Xavier (which he doesn't like being called) and he has his hands full trying to keep peace between two distinct societies.....each is varied and so complex in nature that thre reader wonders if this peace is even possible. The Calzadors and the Sky people do indeed have different ideas on how they should go forward.

The search of survivors is on and those searches are fraught with danger and suspense. Michael's team realizes that they are not the only ones searching for them. Lots of action in these missions and throughout the novel, too.

Love that dog, Miles and even though he is aging, he is still an asset to the team. The author has an innate ability to get down to the nitty-gritty when describing locations, and characters. The reader has been on one terrific ride for all of these in the Hell Divers series. Just think the Hive was decommissioned after being in service for 250 years!

The writing is clear and concise; characters are well developed (some new ones added) and the plot is amazing...truly amazing.

My highest recommendation for Hell Divers VI...Allegiance.

Once again, this book is one of the easiest reads I've ever come across, in that very little, if anything, gets in the way of my absorption of the images Smith puts down on the page. This series in particular is remarkable for this. I thoroughly enjoyed following the further adventures of X and Michael, and I look forward eagerly to Book 7.
