Not your regular horror movie

Not bad, rather original ghost story. Professor who is over extended (a mansion for a house and not even tenured), desperate to cash and about to say goodbye to his career, decides to look for gold, using a group of students (only one of had a brain) to do the searching for him (without them knowing). Things don't go well. Hint: Hell's Belle. One survives, but will probably spend the rest of life in prison, after telling what happened. Only one dead I would have saved - brain and enthusiasm of a four year old. Hint: only one female knew how to dress, when going to a forest. Not bad when the weather outside is freezing cold in April.

a classic slasher film

A group of college students on a school expedition today are searching for the lost Jesse James gold stash. They find and steal a locket which the female outlaw Belle Star left in a cave. This awakens the angry ghost of Belle who kills the expedition members one by one. All the elements of the slasher genre are here: hook-ups of the attractive students, a short topless shower scene, a solid plot, a sole survivor, and visceral deaths. The death scenes are particularly inventive and several are excellent. A great film to watch with friends late at night.

This movie made no sense. The acting was crappy, cuts were awkward, dialog was painful, there's no consistency in the deaths, no real backstory. Looks like someone's college film project.

Not a second of shock or surprise. I didn't care about the characters and I most certainly didn't care about the ghost(s?) The story could have gone a long way with some rewrites. This was made by people who really wanted it to go above a C- but knew it couldn't so they didn't play interested. It was all about hurry up and provide a finished product, damn the torpedo's.

poor choice in character portrayal

the premise that a professor would find something within 30 days with a team of student researchers that will change the outcome of his attaining tenure was a poor choice - just unbelievable on top on unbelievable. the film lost my trust /interest earlier on.

It wasn't original. If it wasn't for the music, the acting would have tanked the film. Not scary at all.
