Asher Thorne loved his team, his family, his country, and would die protecting them all. He's just suffered loss, and is emotionally crippled thinking he would have, could have, should have.
The team gets sent to do a rescue in Venezuela. Never, did Asher dream he would meet a kicka** woman who matched him so well.
Eden York was the translator to the world bankers and she was beautiful, crazy smart, witty, and didn't seem to be afraid of anything. She was also competitive, being the youngest in a large family, she didn’t see any other choices.
So Asher AND Eden (no she wouldn't take a backseat, thank you very much) are on point on this op. They realize they have that extra zing, but first they just need to not get killed.
The secondary characters like the Azua family added much to an already awesome read.
I would've liked to read more about Asher and Eden's time in the states, along with Eden's incredible family.
This gave me all the feels, so much intense action, those LOL moments I love, and an HEA to make me happy sigh.
Asher and his team are sent in to rescue a bunch of International bank people and their translator. They did not do any background on her other than her resume. Asher soon figures out that was a mistake on their part. She was well trained by her dad and brothers who are or were military. The team is surprised at some of the half baked plans she comes up with because some could actually work. Asher gets hurt just as they are ready to go but no one will tell her where he was taken or his condition. Will she ever see him again? How bad was Asher really hurt?
Asher was great at his job. Even though he was injured, he was the one the team was counting on. However, he didn't plan for Eden and what a surprise she was.
Eden was written wonderfully! I loved that she was shown as being someone who was strong most of the time, but yet there were times she just needed a minute. To me, this made her more real. What I loved, even more, was that Asher knew this and helped her when she was low.
My favorite part was when they were in the vault. They learned about each other and the banter was fun to read.
Favorite line - "But when scared and sad is what we're dealt, then we have to address it."

Asher Thorne is still reeling from the tragic death of his older brother Xavier and struggling to cope with his feelings when his team are sent to Venezuela to rescue a group of international financial experts. Working as the translator for the group feisty Eden York finds herself caught up in a life-threatening situation whilst desperately trying to hold everyone together. Eden and Asher end up trapped together and spend the time getting to know one another and exploring the connection they feel as the Seals race to set them free. A born protector to his core, Asher is perfectly matched to strong, resilient Eden and desperately wants a future with her but first they have to survive.
Eden is yet another of Caitlyn O'Leary's characters I want as my best friend, she's smart, funny, sparky with a hidden soft heart and nothing keeps Asher's lioness down for long.
Action packed and exciting, containing plenty of humour and touching on tragedy the story kept me gripped throughout, I adore all the Night Storm characters and as ever was left wanting more! I can't wait for the rest of the stories and was there a hint of a new team in there too?
I loved this story and highly recommend you read it!
Asher is recovering from the suicide oh his oldest bother. He’s tortured at the fact he didn’t realise what a bad place he was in.
When he gets called out on a mission in Venezuela his mind still wanders to his brother.
Then he comes across Eden - the translated part of the entourage in Venezuela he’s been called in to save. She’s sassy, headstrong and determined. She appeals to every part of him and he sees this as a chance to atone for not being able to save his brother.
The book had plenty of action which I really enjoyed l, I do wish more time was able to be spent developing the relationship between the both. Not really didn’t take any enjoyment away for me though
