Her Daughter’s Cry
This is my second M.M. Chouinard book and will not be my last! This was was WOW! It was intense, scary, confusing, and emotional! I will admit, I hated Marissas character, which I think was the authors goal. I didn’t feel bad for her AT ALL because in my opinion, she’s a terrible human being. I never met Sara, but seems like she had a great head on her shoulders.

This story follows the life of a woman who wakes
Up in the woods, covered in blood, with no memory of how she got there, or who she is. She makes her way to a store where she collapses and ends up in the hospital. Detective Jos is on the case. They figure that the amount of blood on “Zoe’s” shirt couldn’t be from her so they begin trying to piece things together. They place Zoe in a facility can she can safe, until someone claiming to be her husband shows up and flees. As the story goes on, it is revealed that Zoe has a daughter and that’s the blood that was on her shirt. Determined to save her daughter, Zoe escapes from the facility and sets out to find out what happened to her.

On her journey, memories start to return sporadically and we learn that Zoe/Marissa wasn’t a nice woman. Twists and turns keep
Happening which kept my turning page after page until I finished. I never in a million years would have expected that ending. I was enraged, sad, emotional and upset. If an author can get that many feelings out of me, then the book is a success!
