It works! I have caught 3 field mice so far using peanut butter. I broke one of the traps trying to clean out the mouse poop, but I must have been too tough on it, because I broke a spring on it. So be careful cleaning it. My third mouse had a super long tail, so the tip of it's tail got chopped off in the door of the trap. I can't stand dead mice, so this is perfect for me!

This is the fourth type of live-trap that I have tried, and the first one that I have had success with at catching and holding mice until released. I say this with the following caveat. The gate on the back of he trap that holds the bait is kept in place with 2 tabs that fit into slots and a little knob that rotates a catch. The little knob is problematic for human hands, but the small catch on the inside of the trap is not problematic for mouse hands. Yes, mice have hands, and they know how to use them. My first 2 attempts with these traps ended with the rear gate lying on the floor like a door smashed off its hinges. Securing the gate to the trap with a strip of tape solved the problem, and I have been catching a releasing mice ever since with no mess or fuss.

I place a Quarter and a Nickel on the trap and it did not trigger the door to close. I can leave the coins as they are but maybe the mice will become shy and not go to the bait. I will try. If it does not work I will use some crazy glue and glue the quarter under the platform to make it more easy to trigger. If it still does not work, I will also glue a nickel. I found 2 quarters will not work for me. For others, depending on altitude, temperature, and humidity, you may have to come up with your own customized weights.

I caught 1 mouse and then I baited both traps again and moved them to a known mouse hangout and both baits (peanut butter covered almond) were stolen without ever triggering the trap.
I feel this can be a great trap with a sensitivity adjustment mechanism to make the trigger more sensitive to weight. My mice are just not heavy enough to set it off.
Baited with a peanut butter covered almond. At 1am I was sitting in front of my PC when I heard the plastic door swing shut. I was delighted to see the mouse that had been running around on my countertops was inside. I quickly removed the trap and placed it our of sight in case other mice might see it and get scared of going inside. On my morning drive to drop my daughter off at school I pulled over and dropped him somewhere with lots of grass and trees. Good luck Mickey!
On 2 occasions on each trap the bait was stolen and the trap was not triggered.

Bigger than the other traps I’ve used, the mouse fit comfortably inside and was released easily.
**edit** I have one clever mouse that can escape the trap by opening the release door. Will try again after tightening the screw that holds the door
closed.
Edit** painters tape fixed the problem with the clever mouse. I still really like this trap because the mice seem the least distressed on release of all the catch and release traps I’ve used. Adding tape isn’t a big deal but the design would benefit with the release not being accessible to the mouse.

We got these to spare the lives of the adorable field mice that got into our garage. However, the trap ended up killing our mouse. His head got trapped under the bait station causing its death. The poor little guy must have been so scared and suffered greatly. We threw the traps out. We wanted a humane trap and release product. Not a trap and suffer till death device. RIP little field mouse. Sorry we caused your death by using this.

Easy to use catch and release more traps

We have been having a lot of mice getting in our garage and somehow have even seen remnants of them in our attic. These mouse traps are awesome and I love the fact that they are no kill. So you simply catch them and release them with no harm to animals. They are super easy to use and no assembly required at all. Very sturdy and durable. Great price and value for the 2 pack. Very pleased and definately recommend
