Aaron Zenz is the author and illustrator of The Hiccupotamus, Chuckling Ducklings, and Monsters Go Night-Night. He has created art for thirty-three books in all, including The Spaghetti-Slurping Sewer Serpent by Laura Ripes and Orangutangled by Sudipta Bardhan-Quallen. It's a cute book and the illustrations are nicely done. The only complaint I have is that while it does rhyme, I don't like that they just take the end of the word and tack it onto the end of the next words. Like elephant and "hellophant". I bought it cause I thought it rhymed (like gruffalo or room on the broom) so kinda disappointed. It's a good book just not what I was really looking for.

I love this book! It's funny and the "BIOs" in the back of the book are hysterically funny (appealing to adults) The book is hard cover with beautiful and very colorful illustrations. I first gave this book 3 stars because I thought that I was buying a board book for babies and that it wasn't appropriate for my 5 month old granddaughter but I'm taking it back! Boy was I wrong, I read it to her today and she wanted me to read it over and over again and loved the pictures. I doubt that she understood what any of it was, just that it sounded funny and she loved the bright colors!

Silly book that brings fond memories. My dad used to have all these sayings that went something like "hippopotomus did alotomous then tripped and fell on his bottomous." My dad is not around anymore, but reading this book to my son is as if he is still here. Anyway, if that over the top way of rhyming is silly to you or your kids, then this i the right book for you.

Eh. I don't like the nonsense words. I can't flow when I read to my baby. She must think I'm some sort of idiot for not being able to quickly pronounce what she assumes are normal words in a baby book. But no, it's yellowphant, elephantipede, and flosserous. Will have to gift this one to some pregnant friend before mine can start asking for re-reads.

Fun story, cute book, my only compliment is the cover arrived in not so new condition as you would expect when you receive a new book, it was torn and damaged. But the book itself is fine. Just would prefer to not get damaged items when paying for brand new items. Makes me think it maybe it was a used book and not brand new.

Funny tongue twisters for adults

This really is a silly book, and if you are all wrapped up in being perfect - you won't like it. But kids love the silliness and have fun as both the adult and they learn how to say these extra silly words! I had a blast with my adult daughter trying to read it, and her daughter had fun with her mommy having a hard time getting those silly words to flow off her tongue.

Does it all make sense? No, it's silly and only meant to rhyme and be totally goofy. I get to spend some quality time with my 4 yr. old granddaughter as we go through the book, and she stops and asks questions - as this book does need a little explaining as to what is happening, as the silly words are a bit confusing - but I think that is also part of the books appeal, spending one on one time with a child as they learn to question things and develop a playful imagination.

The last section of the book tells a story about each character, which is a little strange, but one of my granddaughters' favorite parts of the book, and we can flip back and talk more about each character.
