Once again we are treated to an unusual and intriguing story from Alisa Adams. Gracie is the clumsy, happy, youngest sister of the Douglas clan. She goes to help her aunt , trying to prove to her brother that she is not useless and can be a 'lady'. Once she arrives at the eerie ref castle of Ederdour (loved this) she finds that all is not what it seems. No spoilers, but Alisa weaves in the ancestry of the ancient Picts of Scotland with magic and evil curses and prejudice that leads to murder and everyone pointing to each other. The romance in the story is just lovely with a perfect hero for Gracie. We also saw Warwick Ross again and his warrior minded daughter Jennet! I am always in for a treat with this authors books! Thank you for another great one that I could not put down! (I also loved the epilogue and how it related to the future descendants that became the Ross sisters! )

I loved this story. I read book about Gracie’s sister Mary and Captain Broc so this was a nice sequel about Gracie. I love Gracie and her adventures. She found a jewel in her stone warrior. Together Simon and Gracie solve a horrible mystery of murder and betrayal. They fall in love and build a life together as Laird and Lady.
