Anyway all in all a decent book if you do not want them in-depth, or care if she leaves stuff out, or writes things occasionally that do not make sense. It's a quick fast read. I enjoy most of her writing, and she does seem to be getting better at not writing so much that doesn't make sense anymore. I like Moira and Gahan, but I do not really like stories where the one of them are married to someone else, even if it is to an old man that can't perform in bed. I really do not care for them going behind someone's back to get together. Even if they try to say the marriage was never consummated so they weren't really married. That also accounted for only making it 4 stars.
Sex content medium/high.
Well written, smooth storyline, the dialogue flows, good character development, and the steamy scenes are suitably steamy, all in all another good highland romance by Mary Wine. My only negative would be that there was so much plotting, sub-plotting, and agendas by all the characters that I didn't feel the deep emotional connection between Gahan and Moira that I have come to expect from Ms.Wine's books. It's there, just more superficial than I like, the flirting and circling was steamy but I didn't feel enough attention was paid to the build up of their growing romance.
I confess that she is a favorite author of mine especially her highland series. This was not my favorite of those but I still enjoyed it. It was definitely worth my time and money. Enjoy!
This story had me on the edge of my seat, so to speak, the whole time. I completely fell in love with Moira and her plight in life. Gahan was totally a hunky honorable bad a$$ highlander. With those two combined who wouldn't want them together? Well I can answer that question for you; Bari, Sandra, and Laird Matheson that's who. Those three were evil and ruthless to the core. Luckily Gahan was relentless and he didn't let anything stand in his way of getting what he wanted and more importantly whom he wanted. He went up against schemers, his father, guards, and the King to get Moira.
Read the story you'll hate when it ends, but guess what?! You can read it again!!!
