Understand human behavior and social psychology - and then you can understand yourself and the people around you.
Let's face it - most of the problems that we encounter in our lives aren't about the situation, it's about the person in front of you. Whether it's a parent, sibling, co-worker, or even significant other, there might be a gap in understanding. That's reasonable and normal.
But what if you could learn to understand people, their motivations, what makes them tick, and ultimately how to connect with them better? This is renowned author Patrick King's specialty: distilled emotional intelligence that helps you decipher why people do the things that they do.
He combines his natural instinct for human analysis with a plethora of the latest scientific research in the field to bring you the end result you want: better relationships, high self-esteem and confidence, self-understanding, and overall fulfillment and happiness.

I liked learning about irony/sarcasm, and also found the famous "comic triple" so interesting. Great read - now I have to go practice :P
For example, the explanation of False Importance is very good as is the tutorial on dad jokes, while I felt the Exaggeration bit fell flat and the advice to agree the next time someone insults you might not be the best advice for someone already seeking social help, but that's purely my opinion. The author is admittedly partial to offensive comics and uses offensive terms and examples in several places. Overall, it's well written and clearly organized explanation and gives solid advice: pay attention to things with comedy in mind, listen to comics, maybe even try improv, and above all "if no one laughs but you it wasn't a joke and it wasn't funny".
Not this book. This book actually explains humor in a way that made something click in my brain (which is rare). It gives tips, tricks, and starts you out with dad jokes until you graduate to more complexity. I highly recommend this for anyone who wants to learn comedy and make people laugh, plain and simple.
