Roy Johansen began his professional writing career with his original screenplay for "Murder 101," written in college and for which he won the national FOCUS (Films Of College and University Students) award, a competition sponsored by Steven Spielberg, George Lucas and Martin Scorsese. The screenplay was later produced for cable television and starred Pierce Brosnan. The "Murder 101" script was awarded the Edgar Allen Poe award in the Best Television Miniseries or Movie category from the Mystery Writers of America.
Later, Johansen collaborated with comic book legend Stan Lee in creating The Accuser superhero character, which appeared in a series of adventures from Stan Lee media. Johansen has written screenplays for Warner Bros., Universal Pictures, Disney, and MGM.

One of the best parts of a series is watching the characters change and grow. Kendra still has some more growing up to do, but I can see the seeds of learning to compromise in this book, which is, by far, the best to date. She still goes off headstrong, doing what she wants to do without taking her safety to mind, since she has a “it’s broad daylight, people are around, what can possibly go wrong” attitude. Her passion for justice is admirable; it just needs to be tempered with more careful, analytical thought before she leaps headlong into danger. I have to admit, sometimes I’d like to shake her! Poor Lynch tries to counsel her and protect her, plus he takes the brunt of her anger. The chemistry and tension between the two is extremely well done. Her skill for seeing more than the average person moves the investigation along faster than would usually happen, and Lynch is by her side as much as she’ll let him.

I love this mother and son collaboration. Both are skilled writers with the ability to pull readers into exciting worlds of danger. They have many stand-alone books and series, all of which are worth the time to read. I may not have all of their books yet, but I’m working on it.

I have read and enjoyed all the Kendra Michaels books. In HINDSIGHT the danger hit close to home. Her beloved school Woodward Academy. Major cartel and other thugs killed two who worked at the school. Lynch, Kendra, Olivia and Jessie team up to defeat the bad guys thus saving the school. Olivia obtains a companion in the story also.
I really l loved the story.
