DOUGLAS STUART (Glasgow, Escocia, 1976) se graduó en el Royal College of Art de Londres y poco después se mudó a Nueva York, donde comenzó su carrera como diseñador de moda. En 2020 publicó su primera novela, Historia de Shuggie Bain, galardonada con el Premio Booker y finalista de otra decena de premios, entre ellos el National Book Award, el National Book Critics Circle John Leonard Prize o el PEN/Hemingway Award. Ha sido traducida a más de treinta lenguas.

FRANCISCO GONZÁLEZ LÓPEZ (Málaga, 1977) es traductor de inglés y griego moderno. Entre los autores que ha traducido figuran nombres tan variopintos como Walter Scott, Irvine Welsh, Jesmyn Ward, Suzan-Lori Parks, David Keenan, Jane Smiley, Julia Phillips, Ersi Sotiropoulos o Sotiris Dimitríu.

Douglas Stuart is a Scottish - American author.

His debut novel, Shuggie Bain, won the 2020 Booker Prize and was a finalist for the National Book Award for Fiction. It won the Book of The Year at the British Book Awards and The Sue Kaufman Prize from the American Academy of Arts and Letters.

Shuggie Bain was also a finalist for the Rathbones Folio Prize, The Kirkus Prize, The Orwell Prize, The Pen Hemingway Award, The McKitterick Prize and was a finalist for The Center for Fiction First novel prize.

His next novel, Young Mungo, will be published in April 2022.

His short stories, Found Wanting, and The Englishman, were both published in The New Yorker magazine. His writing on Gender, Anxiety and Poverty can be found on Lit Hub.

Born in Glasgow, Scotland, he is a graduate of The Royal College of Art, and since 2000 he has lived and worked in New York City.

Es triste hasta lo insoportable aunque sabe mantener cierta belleza no se como. No és la història de ssughie.. És la història de los hijos del alcohol y la pobreza. Que sea amanerado es lo de menos. Este chico no tiene tiempo para vivir. Està enganchado a su madre. No és la història de sugghie. Ni la decisión de sugghie. Ni la vida de Sugghie. És una història sobre los estragos del alcohol y la pobreza y el derecho infantil de los hombres en serlo mientras aguante la sociedad.
