I have resisted this movie for a long tome. This evening, I decided to "give it a go". Now I understand why I avoided it. Is this a "hail Mary Pass" to rebrand an actor, or a failed attempt at creating franchise, or a lost, long distance attempt by the filmmakers to make a "real" movie? I found the opening scene to be sophomoric to say the least, the acting and the premise, just not believable... so I bailed early. Sorry, Cuba... I had to bail. ok, so, how long ago was it that I actually bought Cuba Gooding jr.'s acting? I am not sure... perhaps almost 15 years ago, maybe. Says a lot about me, I guess... but, what I would love to see is a character played by Gooding that is redeemable, believable and closer to where he has real life experience, Maybe he became a BIG STAR too soon in life, and just needs to get busy at reality??? Why would he choose this role???.... That's all I can say, and I apologize if you love this film, I just couldn't believe it... so I left it and saved myself an hour wasted.
