About the authors
Katie O’Sullivan is an award winning author with more than a dozen contemporary romance novels and series of young adult books to her name, available online and in stores.
A voracious reader, she loves to read and write second chance stories with strong female characters and hot alpha males. A recovering English major, she earned her degree at Colgate University and now lives on Cape Cod, drinking way too much coffee and finding new uses for the sea glass she obsessively collects along the shore. In addition to writing YA and romantic suspense novels, she has a full time day job at a high tech company. Which explains all the coffee.

Paige is the little sister of Brendan's best friend. They grew up together playing hockey and secretly in love with each other. When Brendan returns home four years after HS as an NHL star, he sees Paige in a bar and they end up spending some time together.
Fast forward 5 years and Brendan comes home for Xmas to find Paige still there and he'd been trying to reaching for years. He had no clue she'd been reaching out to him but their messages were never delivered. Paige has a surprise for him, their son.
It was a great Xmas read that once I started I couldn't put down!
This story had some dramatic twists and unexpected turns. I enjoyed their story so much and as usual, enjoy Ms. O'Sullivan's ability to transport the reader to Cape Cod. I've never been there, but feel like I'll recognize it when I finally do visit.
Excellent story!
One night together proves more than either of them can forget.
Flash forward five years and Brendan's at a crossroads in his career. When he comes back to town - again at Christmas and runs into Paige, he starts to reevaluate all that's happened in his life and with the girl that he hasn't ever been able to stop thinking about. But Paige isn't the same girl he left behind. There' s one very big change in her life and that change has a lot to do with her past time with Brendan.
Told in her usual quick witted and easy style, Ms. O'Sullivan has given her readers another "Macdonald Cousin" to love and route for. The underlying theme of family, of fighting for what you want and what you believe in, and of unconditional love that the author brings to all her works, is once again on full display here. The friends to lovers trope, and coming home again message of the book are done so well here. I devoured this book in a day because it was for me -as are all O'SUllivan's books - unputdownable.
5 stars to another fabulous Katie O'Sullivan story. And it's no surprise I loved it. You will, too!
Brendan is an injured hockey player with a bad boy reputation. Paige makes ends meet by living with her parents and working a lackluster job. One of them is guarding a secret that involves the other. Good or bad, secrets have a way of complicating life.
I’ve been an O’Sullivan fan for a couple of years. True to her style, this second chance romance is a pleasure to read. Her flair for witty dialogue and entertaining descriptions will keep you turning the page. The characters are believable, and the story is fast-moving. From the Hot Hunks Steamy Romance Collection, BRENDAN’S CHRISTMAS SURPRISE gets 5 glistening stars.
