I think the film is a product of the time when it was made. There's a lot of physical humor; lots of people getting punched, kicked, falling down, injured, etc. Then there's all the aspects you would never see in a film today, such as a mom trying to kiss someone who's actually her daughter, serial rapists setting up for a smut scene in an alleyway, a bad adaptation of a Mexican accent, cross-dressing, etc. Lots of these things may have been used as shock/comedy aspects in the movie when it was made, but a movie coming out in 2022 would be roasted roasted the same thing. The last scene was actually pretty disturbing, where the main male character is driven off in a car handcuffed apparently to be raped by some creeper, and this is supposed to be funny? Rachel McAdams is stunning, as usual, and provides more depth than expected to this movie, and Anna Faris is funny, as usual. But the script was too disturbing to give anything higher than a 2 star review.
