When a family of 4 goes missing seemingly in the dead of night, Blake Wilder and her team are called to find the young family and determine the reason for their sudden disappearance.

Change is the only constant in life. It’s a lesson FBI Agent Blake Wilder is having to learn all over again. Summoned to DC by a Bureau legend, Blake is excited, imagining big things on the horizon for her team. New enemies rise, and old adversaries come to the forefront as Blake and her team race to find a man and his family being hunted by a ruthless organization. The sands of the world are shifting beneath her feet. Nobody and nothing is what she believes and Blake doesn’t know who to trust.

With the lives of the young family on the line, Blake juggles the danger that surrounds her, the changes that she faces, and the perplexing mysteries regarding what happened that night at The House on the Hill.

Being a fan of Elle Gray and having read all her books, I decided to take the time to write this review and add it to the reviews of each book. First of all, whether it’s the Blake Wilder series, the Olivia Knight series, or the Pax Arrington series, I strongly recommend that you read each series in the order it was written. There are themes and characters that run through each series and Ms. Gray brings you up to date, but you would benefit greatly by a chronological reading.
Ms. Gray has her own writing style. It’s relaxed, enjoyable, contemporary writing. Her characters in each series – the main characters, their coworkers, peripheral characters, unsubs, and everyone else – are presented and developed well and the themes and characters that run through each series add to the enjoyment. Each chapter ends in a way that makes you want to read the next chapter and each book ends enticing you to read the next.
Obviously, I am not a reviewer or a writer, as evidenced by this review, but I just wanted to promote the books of Elle Gray and suggest ways to better enjoy them. They are well-worth the read.

Loved the continuation of Blake’s story. Initially, I wasn’t thrilled with the changes introduced in this book for Blake and her team. But it keeps you on your toes, questioning what’s coming next, and who might be involved. Change is the only constant and Blake has brought strong winds of change and chaos into her career from influential, deeply imbedded, enemies. But who are they?

As Blake’s revamped team (very happy to see her original team is still with her) takes on national level cases, you can only wonder how The Thirteen are going to play into the new assignments. High level government corruption and international espionage leaves you questioning who can be trusted and wondering just how close the danger might be hiding.

The end of book 11 leaves us anxious to hear how Kit is doing and book 12!

This was a fantastic story, and a great addition to the series. There were a lot of changes in this story, some good, and some definitely not. With these changes comes a lot of questions, distrust, secrets, lies, betrayals, and more. Add in the complex and intriguing case that was given to the team, and it's almost more than they can handle.
It's certainly going to be interesting to see where the series goes from here. The only thing that I didn't really like was the cliffhanger ending. The case itself was completed, but it's one of the secondary plots involved with the ending. Hopefully the next release will be out soon.
I would definitely recommend this book, series, and outstanding author.

I won’t give anything away, but waiting for the next book will be torture. This series, and this book, have all the elements one looks for in a mystery thriller: excitement, a twisty plot, great characters you care about, and last but not least, humor. The bantering between Blake and her team is priceless, and serves to lighten the atmosphere just when you need it. This author will be on anyone’s list of great mystery writers before long. Mark my words!

Her team is being changed and she's not sure who to trust. A family is missing and clues are hard to find. As her team figures out the case, you don't want to quit reading until you find out what happens. Definitely a "5" star book. Good until the last page.

A little help comes from the Agency through her one new boss they still don’t find the definitely missing family. Two new members are added to her team and that doesn’t really help.
