Nate as the love interest in this story. He’s someone who wasn’t going to give up on getting the person he loves. I like that kind of determination and initiative. This, like the first one, is low steam. It’s nice and clean and one you can be comfortable reading with anyone. Also, the beach vibes in this one are just as amazing as the first!
I loved the setting of the story - a family cottage on the beach in the summer and all the things that go along with it. Once I started this book I couldn't stop. The two main characters, Sydney and Nate, first loves finding each other again. Sydney is trying to move forward with life and take care of her son and keep her Aunt Clara's legacy going. I couldn't wait to find out why Nate chose to leave her when they were young, and what other things (surprises) he had for Sydney.
The House on Firefly Beach would be a perfect addition to Hallmark's Summer series of movies!
I highly recommend this book to everyone who enjoys a summer beach read.
Perhaps my expectations were too high, as this was more romance novel than I'd expected. Maybe I've just grown tired of all the books set at the beach, which seem to be increasing. Overall, this was a very light book - and a bit too light for me.
