Best of Hallmark!

The massive trend to make entertainment into a stressful event has almost destroyed my interest in the industry and the experience. It is abnormal and unhealthy for our social ethos and for our human minds. I actively search for stories that will NOT insult my Central Nervous System OR my intelligence and that is how I ended up watching this movie. Loved Brooke D'Orsay in Royal Pains, so I took a chance on this movie -- although I agree with the previous reviewer who noted that the preview on Amazon does NOT do justice to this piece. Pitch perfect acting, reality-based direction, great production values, believable plot and story development, dialogue that isn't corny and is normal + sensitive... There's just nothing I didn't love about this movie and I will definitely watch it again. Thank You, Hallmark. This is your High Bar now...

Very fun journey to love

I love Eric and Brooke in this movie. The slow startup was great. This is the journey of two people who cross paths as 15 year old's at a High School dance. While he liked her, she really didn't feel the same way about him. Fast forward to their meeting again. Events conspire where they agree for her to be his dating coach. The effort is very interesting. Seeing him evolve from a person with no confidence in himself to a very different person was especially sweet to me as I thought he was sweet and cute in the first place. This is a great story as she also evolves. This is one of those movies where two people become great friends and realize they fit beyond friendship to a much higher level. I find nothing to criticize here. This movie flows with lots of fun scenes. Hope you enjoy! :)

Necessary involvement led to real affections!
Verified purchase
My first thoughts about this movie were that it is a sweet love story that moved me. After watching it a 2nd and 3rd time, I saw some parallels with another love story that I really like -- Salmon Fishing in the Yemen. The lead female in each is forced into a relationship with a male that they really had little affections for, especially loving affections. But over time and necessary interactions, they developed loving affections for these lead men. I was very moved by that transformation -- I have been alone the past 14 years due to divorce, and am 67 now and health problems keep me from dating...so I am falling in love vicariously.... These movies are great for someone like me. Since retiring, I also miss being a valued part of some workplace...and that is a dynamic of the second movie.
Great movies on many levels!

Worth Watching again (& again)

Good to see characters develop and grow into being really nice people. Harold grows out of and overcomes high school insecurities to become a nice and carrying person through Annie's coaching. Nice reconciliations occur showing that sometimes early perceptions are wrong, and learning the truth helps one grow into healthier and stronger relationships. Well written and moves along at an OK pace. Good spectrum of people and personalities. Good casting.

How to Fall in Love - Will Definately Watch Again

Possibly one of my favorite movies. I like good clean movies (or as clean as you can get nowadays). How to Fall in Love was really quite clean. I originally saw this movie on Hallmark Channel and bought it as soon as it came to DVD. Most people would skip it because they think it is too predictable or "lame", but I like movies like that because I know I will be watching something that won't make me feel like I have just been "slimed".

Every time Harold White asks a woman out it ends in disaster. He still suffers from an "ugly-duckling syndrome" in his youth that has haunted him ever since. He thinks that he hasn't changed all that much. However, Annie, the pretty/popular girl he knew and had a crush on in high school (who he asked out once and she didn't pay much attention to) meets him again and wants him to hire her to be his dating coach (and help him gain some self-esteem). It is very cute how Annie draws Harold out of his shell and teaches him about who he is and who he wants to be. Lesson #1: Self-Confidence. Lesson #2: Breaking the Ice. Lesson #3: The Art of Conversation. Lesson #4: Start Sharing. Lesson #5: Make Her Feel Special. Lesson #6: Getting Close. Lesson #7: Compromise. Lesson #8: Follow Your Heart. She thinks she is helping him to ask out the girl he has seen in the coffee shop, but Harold still likes his "teacher" and as Annie gets to know her "student" better, they find that they like their lives so much more with each other in it. And they would like to keep it that way.

Overall, I really love this move and will definitely watch it over and over again.

Great Romantic Movie

I wasn't sure that I was going to like this movie because I didn't think the preview was all that compelling. And, in observing the differences in the physical attributes of the man and woman involved, I didn't think the plot was going to work at all. Wow, I was surprised to love this movie from the first viewing! The female protagonist is vibrant and tender-hearted and I really liked the guy as he was a decent man who needed a little assist in mastering his social skills. They had been high school classmates so there was a foundation upon which was built a really solid relationship. I thought the actors and the characters that they portrayed, along with the secondary characters, really made for an enjoyable and believable storyline. I highly recommend this movie to anyone looking for a good romance movie.

One of Hallmark Channels Best Films!!!

I absolutely love this movie. It is one of my all time favorite Hallmark movies. It has a cute premise that the guy is the unexperienced one in dating and the girl has all the experience. It also involves a storyline on my favorite hobby of photography. The acting is great and there is a good rapport between the two main characters. My husband and I have a bit of a longstanding joke about Hallmark movies which is that the story develops along and then somewhere in the last one to three minutes, there is the "KISS" that seals the deal and ends the movie on a happy note. Fortunately there is a very sexy kiss in the middle of this movie that just prolongs the enjoyment of this film. And yes, there is also a kiss in the last minute of the movie to seal the deal.

I didn't like this movie at all. I hated that the male lead had to change to attract a suitable mate. I hated that he whisper acted the whole movie through. The high school part coming back up was just dumb. I liked the actors but hated the movie.
