By the author: “Good teachers should create a learning atmosphere free from judgment. This means disconnecting performance from the student’s self-worth or identity, so that failure and mistakes are not perceived as threatening or humiliating. When a teacher models nonjudgment, a student feels safe to explore, experiment and make purposeful mistakes on their learning journey.”
