But the night becomes a wake-up call for Julie because none of her friends seem to be having much fun: Alice, a former legal aid attorney has recently quit her job to start dating for a living; Serena, who is so busy becoming a fully realized person that she can't find time to look for a mate; and Ruby, a curvy and compassionate woman, has been mourning the death of her cat for months.
Fed up being single in Manhattan, Julie sets off to find out how women around the world deal with this dreaded phenomenon. From Paris to Rio to Sydney, Bali, Beijing, Mumbai, and Reykjavik, Julie falls in love, gets her heart broken, sees the world, and learns more than she ever dreamed possible. Written in Liz Tuccillo's pitch-perfect, hilarious, and relatable voice, How to Be Single is the ultimate novel for the adventurer in us all.

I won't go into the plot line in detail because you can read that with the description so instead you get opinions.. :)
For those of you that don't know Liz is the other witty half of that well known best seller "He's just not that into you" and hasn't THAT been the uber catch phrase as of late?
This book is fiction, pure declious, funny, witty fiction. Which she does with a wonderful flair! I simply loved it.
It's one of those rare books that makes me think about the people in it long after I put it down and I looked forward to getting back to it as soon as I could.
I am not a reader of "chick -lit" and I don't tend to read alot of fiction but this book was a breath of fresh air. (Also a great beach read!)
The writing is witty and warm, you care about the people in it. I loved the pace and the dialogue and every woman in this book is someone we all know, (and the men too!) You sort of feel like Liz has been spying.. when in fact my guess is, like most of us, she has simply "been there".
This book, to me, is the written version of hanging out with your girlfriends. I hope there is more work from her. It is really a wonderful novel.. NOW get out there and promote it.. people need to KNOW it's there... worth the read, you will think about this one long after the last page has been read.
