Heavy - handed bummer
Verified purchase
Maya Hawke way over-plays her role, in my opinion. Just too heavy-handed. Or maybe it's the short-comings of the script??? Then again, maybe it is actually a reflection of Marc Meyer. The film seems to be just too bleek and adverse from the start, no vision, no textural plays, no dynamics... The children are not believable as children, to say the least, nor the spousal connections...no sense of inter-connection between any of the characters... mis-cast perhaps???? in just about every character. I completely wonder why this film was made? it will not inform you, will not make you think...just bummer from start to finish. Liev Shrieber sure picked a role depicting impotency...but then again, this pretty much describes every person in this film... So, was this intentional? I wonder, can someone please ask the director; the film is this way,on purpose? Why???? With so much material, it seems impossible to fail...but he did...this film fails immeasurably... and I must say, I can guarantee that in the future I will steer clear of anything involving Maya Hawke... is she an actress????

Boring and stupid

Rented this for Marissa Tomei but oh man, even she couldn't save this movie. Boring and had the opportunity to be good. It's like directors start out with big ideas and once a movie unfolds they just fall asleep at the wheel and the whole movie just goes on auto pilot. You're left wondering how the movie ever got made in the first place.

The trailer portrays a different vibe than the movie actually is.

I watched the trailer for Human Capitol and it promised a tension-filled movie with ominous music. That is not what I bought. It was just another drama, with a weak storyline. The trailer was so much better and it was free!

If you like Ray Donovan, don’t see this

Sucked. After watching Ray Donovan kick ass over the years, you feel like this character is too much of a wuss in the entire movie.

Another wasted evening

We're big fans of Liev Schreiber from Ray Donovan, but this movie was a big let down! Not because of the acting, but the story was long, drawn out, and predictable. I think movies should have a refund. They're one of the few purchased we make without any guarantee.

Real Life

Great story with reality threaded throughout. Team did a great job bringing the emotions of multiple tragedies to life. Viewers can have compassion for what the characters are experiencing. Very well done.

MELANCHOLY AMBIVALENT

It's like eating hot dog; not gonna satisfy you but will do when you are hungry. It was a bit confusing at first with the story unfolding where they tell you what happened then go back and do the set up.
