My favourite Disney movie of all time! <3

I love little mermaid, lion king, Aladdin etc. And most "milenials " would name one of those as their fav of the Disney renaissance... or even Disney of all time.. but this one is sooooo underappreciated. Claude Frollo is the perfect villain. Such dark and deep themes and the score!

The Hunchback of Notre Dame is a classic movie and one of my favorite movies that Disney made. I went for this digital copy + bonus content because, quite frankly, it was cheaper than buying it WITHOUT the bonus content. After the movie, Jason Alexander (the voice of one of the gargoyles) does a behind the scenes look at the animation for the movie and a studio tour to show everything that went into making this a Disney classic. Would definitely recommend.

Quasimodo Lives (Again)

I fell in love with the music in this animated Disney film. I am a big fan of Victor Hugo. For my Christmas presents to my friends this year, I did a study of The Hunchback of Notre Dame as a book, as a Disney animated movie, as a stage musical on its way to Broadway. Children and adults should study this and learn.

One of my all time favorite Disney Movies!

Love this film, bought it for my kids to watch in class (Drama Teacher) because we'll be putting on a play of Hunchback of Notre Dame and not only do I love this movie now all the kids do as well! Best part of this purchase was the quality, it was more HD than my assistant's DVD version she brought into class as backup incase Wifi decided to be a hassle. This AmazonPrime copy was way more HD than the DVD version - the picture was clearer and more clean and vibrant. Loved this purchase and now I can watch it again and again whenever I like too :) Thanks Amazon!

A DARK ADULT TALE THAT THE WHOLE FAMILY CAN ENJOY
Verified purchase
I could go on and on. Perhaps I'm not in the mood, or maybe this is such a masterpiece that dissecting its story and storytelling magic is simply uncalled for. This is a story about lust, betrayal, jealousy, madness, murder and genocide. But don't worry– you and the kids will leave the movie humming some of the finest theater music ever written.

Is this a fine interpretation of Victor Hugo's immortal classic? To quote Bugs Bunny, "HMMMM... could be". The story is pure Victor Hugo. The story-telling is pure Disney.

Any way to look at it, it is brilliant film-making and ground-breaking movie magic. Grumpy adults might well see lecherous sociopaths holding court in an abyss of human suffering. The kids (and believe me, there is still a kid inside you) will see Good Guys, Bad Guys, the Hero and the Villain. Well, TWO heroes, but who's counting?

They didn't cast Charles Laughton this time and Quasimodo (his friends call him Quasi) is voiced by Tom Hulse as a brilliantly imaginative, un-nurotic soul with a heart of gold. He's adorable.

Esmerelda is a Turquoise-eyed California Cheerleader, one part "babe-a-licious", one part "Freedom Now!" Hippie and 100% the kind of girl your hungarian mother always wanted you to marry.

OK- I'm finished. Rent or Buy this movie RIGHT NOW. The pixels on your HDTV will sing and dance and you and the family will be enchanted. Nuff said.

Heart wrenchingly poignant Disney film. It definitely borders in adult subject matter but it teaches kids the value of not judging a person by how they look on the outside and I think that is worth a fifth star.

best soundtrack!

nice bluray! this definitely has the best soundtrack and villain out of all the disney movies. sure the gargoyles take away from what could have been real and epic but it's disney so yeah....it is what it is, but still enjoyable! more so as an adult i think though because frollo no longer just comes off as just another one-dimensional villain. his song "hellfire" clearly shows this and it's the best part of the movie in my opinion.

this film reminds us to Love.

It has been 20 years since I last week saw this and had forgotten how powerfully moving this film is. Everything about it is amazing--the casting, the score, the animation, and especially the story itself. It is just as relevant and poignant now as it was then. In a time filled with so much hatred for anyone different, this film reminds us to Love.
