Overall the dishes are filling but I wouldn't say you could live off these recipes alone. There's almost no fat. Eating too low fat on a consistent basis can cause depression and fatigue among other hormonal issues. Otherwise it's excellent and there's enough recipes in here to last a lifetime, literally.
But I've enjoyed a lot of the recipes. The shake chapter is very fun and I've enjoyed many pancakes, mexican dishes, and a few desserts. There are so many recipes, so I look forward to trying more!

The majority of the ingredients in this book are not available in the UK. I ended up recycling the book because it was of no use to me. It is quite difficult to find recipes you are interested in as there are no pictures. I thought that many recipes were repeated with minor variations to previous recipes, they hardly merited a separate set of instructions. A nice idea, but not very user friendly particularly for anyone outside of the USA.
And it's very american -- it uses american measurements thoughout, with no metric equivalents given, and calls for lots of wierd ingredients: some of them are easy enough to translate if you are prepared to spend time googling them, but lots of them are things that might be easy to find in Norfolk (Virginia) but are unheard of in Norfolk (UK)
