I Am the Night tells the gripping story of Fauna Hodel (India Eisley), a teenage girl who is given away at birth, and grows up outside of Reno, Nevada. Fauna lives more-or-less comfortably with the mysteries of her origin, until one day she makes a discovery that leads her to question everything.

Fauna Hodel (India Eisley), a na?ve young girl growing up outside of Reno, Nevada, embarks on a desperate quest to discover who she is. In Los Angeles, Jay Singletary (Chris Pine), a former Marine turned hack reporter covers a gruesome murder.
Newly arrived in Los Angeles, Fauna attempts to track down her family, including her mysterious grandfather, George Hodel (Jefferson Mays). Jay continues his pursuit of the Bloody Romeo, but he can't let go of the story that ruined his career years ago-a story that involved George Hodel.
A visit from Billis (Yul Vazquez) and the LAPD leaves Jay (Chris Pine) wondering how close he's getting to the truth. Fauna (India Eisley) must reconcile Corinna's (Connie Nielsen) revelations with the suspicion that Corinna is hiding Fauna's mother, Tamar.
A phone call in the middle of the night from Corinna has Jay believing that there are cracks appearing in the Hodel case. And he's getting an itch that the Bloody Romeo case may have something to do with the famed Black Dahlia murders.
Jay (Chris Pine) and Fauna (India Eisley) search for a way to make it to Hawaii: Fauna to find her mother, Tamar Hodel (Jamie Anne Allman), and the truth about why she was put up for adoption, and Jay to see if Tamar holds the answers to the Hodel case that destroyed his career.
When Fauna hears what happened to Jimmy Lee (Golden Brooks), she frantically searches for a way home. As Watts explodes around her into chaotic riots, Fauna's way out harbors a nightmarish trap. Jay stews in a cell that overflows with rioters, his options diminishing as the hours pass, until he hatches a desperate plan.
This is not the true story of Fauna Hodel and it's a waste of time for anyone hoping it is. 95% of the storyline is false. Her true story is crazy and dark and interesting enough. I don't know why the producers of this show felt the need to throw in a bunch of made up characters and stupid dramatic events that never even happened. The timeline isn't even right. Acting is pretty terrible, especially Chris Pine. Listen to Root of Evil instead if you're actually interested in this story. Don't waste your money!!!!!

Episode One Not Available rest of season Won't Stream
Amazon is no help, I bought the full season only to find that Episode One isn't included in the Season. I managed to watch 20 minutes of Episode 2 before it started hanging and won't play. I'm getting Not Enough Bandwidth error messages, I've restarted my system and can watch any other video stream, just not this title/series. RIP OFF

Terrible. Unlivable characters, hard to follow and warped theme.
I don't write reviews, but this is the best thing I have seen on TV. The acting is stellar, the story keeps you on the edge of your seat, the senary, costumes and cinematography are pure art. The story is a noir with many other elements added in. I truly enjoyed this series and could not wait to watch the next episode.

She's such a great actress. It's a great story line. It makes you want more after the episode is done
I am pretty familiar with the Dahlia back story, and even though there are divergences from the story revealed by the doctor's son- the use of the original house and the presentation of this very personal story was treated with respect by the film makers. Great acting too, in my opinion.
