As A Scrat Lover, This is The Best Five Bucks My Grown Self has spent in a while.
Thanks to the reviewers who tried to explain this rather complicated compilation.
Even though Scrat graces the cover, it's not clear & really didn't want an Ice Age Holiday movie.
If I'm being completely transparent, I watch Ice Age for Scrat. I. Love. Scrat.
So here's the (Rough) Simplified Breakdown of the 72 min feature.
It's Saturday Morning Cartoon Format. Perfect for child-like attention spans.
~ 20 min Ice Age Easter Feature
~ 20 min Scrat including a confusing Highlight reel Then, about a 5 Scrat Shorts
~ 20 min Ice Age Highlight Reel of Main & Ancillary Characters taking you through the films
~ 10 min of Animators Interviewed to explain Creation of Scrat & Scratte (love interest)
~ 2 min Credits
The 10 min Bonus Feature with Animators is the closest you will get to full Love Storyline.
You think you're getting it at the end of the shorts but it's just a teaser.
Why does this compilation gets 4 stars when anything Scrat is Priceless?
The Scrat Highlight reel is choppy & incomplete.
It has great funny moments but, if you know the movies, you know the set-up & feel a bit robbed.
If you don't know the movies, mashing clips together like baby food, again, robs the comedy.
The movie quickly redeems itself with Full Scrat Shorts from previous movies.
Scrat in Space. Scrat in the Time Machine. Scrat on the Pile of Acorns that starts the Continental Divide.
This is what made it worth 5 bucks. The great Scrat-ories to watch again & again.
Because there is nothing that Scrat can't make better with his happy squeaks & acorn determination.
The World Needs More Scrat.
