Ms. Harris is the author of the award-winning YA psychological fantasy thriller series, the My Myth Trilogy. Book One, RIVEN, is optioned for a feature film. Jane loves to watch and study what makes us tick as humans. She’s definitely a dreamer. Her favorite thing to do is use her wild imagination to weave together settings and stories for characters to live and learn in...herself included. Jane also enjoys writing short stories, which provides her the perfect opportunity to delve into her emotions and psyche in order to breathe life into the characters and scenes that beckon to her in her waking and sleeping dreams. Her shorts are published in several anthologies.
When she isn’t working on her own manuscripts, you can find Jane teaching private creative and academic writing classes, and narrating audiobooks. You might say she’s a bit obsessed with the written word.
Mike was a cop for almost 12 years, but for the last 14 years, he’s been teaching Military, Law Enforcement, and Bodyguards high speed, tactical, and off-road driving as well as hand-to-hand Combatives and Blade tactics. He enjoys martial arts and has been a practitioner since 1989 of various styles. Filipino blade arts are his favorite. Since he was a teenager, he’s loved reading, writing, and watching movies, particularly in the horror and sci-fi genre. He’s also been a prolific reader of theology and has dabbled in philosophy as well. He has a beautiful, smart wife who is amazingly supportive and a son and daughter who are both graduated. His babies now are a German Shepherd named Ziva, a Daddy's girl who loves to play... even when he’s writing, and a Border Collie mix named Joey “The Bandit” who will steal anything and everything he can, even the toys right out of Ziva’s mouth. Mike is a lover of music, as well, and it is an integral part of his writing ritual.
Red Lagoe grew up on 80s horror and carried her paranoia of slashers and sewer creatures into adulthood.
When she’s not spewing her horror-ridden mind onto the page, or substituting at the elementary school like a normal upstanding citizen, Red enjoys amateur astronomy, and can be found lingering in the inky shadows among beasts for a better view of the stars.
Red's short story collection Lucid Screams released in February 2020. She is a staff writer for Crystal Lake Publishing's Still Water Bay series. Her stories have appeared in Dark Moon Digest, Sinister Smile Press's If I Die Before I Wake, volumes 1, 2, & 3, Crystal Lake Publishing’s Shallow Waters Volumes 1,2, 3&4, Trembling with Fear’s Year Two anthology, Owl Hollow Press’ Under the Full Moon’s Light anthology, and more. Her viral apocalypse novel Fair Haven released in 2017.

RJ Roles grew up in the mountains of West Virginia. His love for horror and all things macabre was instilled in him at a young age as was reading when he discovered the Goosebumps series. He currently works as a private security guard when he’s not trying to peck out stories on the computer. He spends the majority of his time at home with his wife Jessica and their spoiled-rotten cats.

A few of my brief thoughts about each story in If I Die Before I Wake: Tales of Supernatural Horror.
At the Core Lies Darkness - Steven Pajak - This creative little roller coaster of a story covered a spectrum of emotions for me--happiness, sadness, and my body cringing in disgust. I loved every minute. (If you haven't read it yet, I also highly recommend his novel, Project Hindsight.)
Dead Pics - Gerald Dean Rice - I was in it! Super fun, a little disturbing, and a lot creative. But hey...haven't we ALL looked at grisly death pictures/videos before? I know I have.
Finders Keepers -Jane Alvey Harris - Any mother could relate to this story. Incredibly creepy and effective.
Carnival of Lust - Mike Duke - If only we could keep those powerful teenage lusts and desires our entire lives. Of course, then we'd get absolutely nothing else accomplished. 😂 Such a fun story.
I.O.U. - Kayla Krantz - A story full of revenge and vindication. Enjoyable!
Dead and Buried - Matthew A. Clarke - This was such a cool, genuinely scary story, but there is a trigger warning--animal torture/death. A huge no-no for me.
Until That Day Arrives - R.J. Roles - Gotta give my fellow West Virginia Mountaineer some kudos...this was a freaky, crazy-good story.
Harvest of Truth - L.K. Pinaire - A sad, reflective story about the injustices those who are different face...even in past centuries.
Kunk - Alan Derosby- A deliciously creepy, macabre story. Kunk needs to stay far, far away from me.
Withered - Cassandra Angler- This is one twisted ride! Disturbing on so many levels. I was thoroughly entertained.
It Happened on State Street - Peter Rocha - Heavy on religious themes, but a very well-written, engaging story.
Never Have I Ever - Red Lagoe - Okay, I kinda loved this story. So much fun!
Killer Radio - R.E. Sargent - He's done it again! The author who gave us the epic Karen Carter series also wrote my favorite story of the bunch. Sargent has a knack for short stories that absolutely suck you in. Even better...all that 80s music. Loved his creativity.
Hmmm...if I had to pick a top 3, I'd choose At the Core Lies Darkness, Never Have I Ever, and Killer Radio, but I wholeheartedly enjoyed each and every story.
