Great family film.

Overall a wonderful film. All of the actors were believable, including the kids. When I read the overview I thought it would really be a movie about a fantasy world that people get sucked into. I was really surprised to see a film about a man becoming a real father with a little fantasy ideology involved but not overarching. My 5 y/o loved it and was able to follow the plot easily but my teenagers loved it as well. Very funny AND fun film! I recommend this movie for people from 5 to 500 y/o. Nice to see a great, funny movie w/o a lot of trash humor and/or adult: themes.

Can't recall even hearing about this movie. But a rainy saturday w/ my daughters, we decided to give this movie a try. Eddie M plays a dad who is seperated or divorced (i'm not sure) from his wife and they have a young daughter. the story centers around murphy, his work nemesis, and his daughter who has special "connections" with some magical princesses. As the story goes, murphy is caught up in his work and trying to make better investments than his counterpart, and while he is in a meeting, his daughter, who is brought to work on this day, draws/paints and marks up his presentation papers for his big client meeting. As he stands flabbergasted listening to his nemesis present his spill, the stresses gets to him and he goes on a tangent over the artwork his daughter has done. Sulking in his office waiting for his pink slip he finds out that his daughters "inside" help has actually forecasted everything correctly, thus beginning his bond w/ his once ignored daughter and her magical friends. It is really a good, funny story that i enjoyed for the most part except for the use of certain words that should not be present in a PG movie (my opinion). so i would recommend anyone to watch it. it's a movie that you can stand to watch over and over.

Imagination And…

This Imagine That film features the characters of Evan Danielson (Eddie Murphy) and Johnny Whitefeather (Thomas Haden Church) in extreme competition with each other for a plum position with their company. Meanwhile, Evan Danielson is notified by Trish (Nicole Ari Parker) that she needs him to set aside some time for their daughter Olivia Danielson (Yara Shahidi). Olivia has an important gift/talent that eventually plays a pivotal part of Evan Danielson’s life. Multiple other actors and actresses feature in Imagine That in also orchestrating why Evan Danielson and Johnny Whitefeather are in highly charged competitive situations with each other. You might also enjoy viewing this Imagine That film if you have previously enjoyed watching the 2008 Bedtime Stories film (featuring Adam Sandler Russell Brand Courtney Cox etc) because Imagine That touches on the elements of creative imagination in distinctive/unique/novel ways similar to the 2008 Bedtime Stories film.

Almost too good

This movie is not a masterpiece. But it is very entertaining.
It's a great family film but the antics of Eddie Murphy will appeal especially to the adults watching it. The kids will just think he is a funny man.
All of the actors are good in this movie. The little girl who plays Murphy's daughter is flat-out perfectly adorable but not cloyingly sweet. She is going place, that one!
After you have seen 'Trading Places,' you want every Eddy Murphy movie to be as funny as that. This doesn't come close to that. But it's excellent nonetheless. In a way, this is almost too good to be just a family movie and not good enough to hold its own for just adults.

This is my daughter's and i movie i don't understand how people can say that this movie is boring or not for families. My favorite scene is when they dance in front of the fountain. This is a great movie especially for dads and their daughters. It's one of the few clean Eddie murphy movies that you can watch with your family.

It reminded me of my children when they were at that age. daughter and how she used announce her intention to sleep and then falls asleep quickly . My son would tell me stories about a a crime fighting hero that sounded so good I thought they were from real children cartoons or comic books.

It's always fun to see Eddie Murphy in a movie

It's always fun to see Eddie Murphy in a movie. The little girl was adorable until the end when she had a personality revision. No explanation of where the boyfriend disappeared to after the school concert.

It's nice to see a movie that has no swear words, no gratuitous sex and nudity and is wholesome.

Laughter To A Mom
Verified purchase
My mother has Alzheimer's, and she thoroughly enjoyed this movie. She tends to favor movies, or shows, with children, so when I saw this advertised in another DVD, I knew we had to get it for her. Watching her laugh and enjoy this movie brought great pleasure to me and my sister. Laughter is a precious gift to share with a family member who has this disease. It just goes to show that we never lose our childlike spirit.
