Immortal Shadows: A Supernatural ghost story Kindle Edition
Inspired by Matt Shaw's own recent hospital trip and subsequent operation; a new supernatural ghost story.
The operation was relatively straight forward. They said he had a chance of being discharged on the same day but, as a worst case scenario, he should be prepared to spend at least one night on the ward. From the literature they gave him, it all sounded straight forward but he didn't expect to see things in the shadows and nor did he expect to hear the laughter as something unseen toyed with him whenever the dark came. Was he hallucinating due to the pain medication they were giving him or was there something more sinister lurking within the blackest parts of the ward's many, many shadows?

I arrogantly thought I had guessed correctly what had happened to the main character, until the horrific reveal towards the end. Shaw leads readers to the metaphorical elevator, letting them think they know where it will take them, and, once the doors open as expected, promptly shoves them down the dark shaft.
Much like THE SUICIDE CLUB, Matt Shaw has blended real-life fears with thought-provoking terror to create a ghost story readers won't soon forget.

The Author himself recently stayed in hospital and the story was apparently inspired by his operation and pain medication he received which planted the seeds for this well written story which certainly packed a punch and which I enjoyed.
Well worth a read
