I feel this book helps open up communication between parents/educators and young ones. You can have a discussion on what's written or what's illustrated. On top of that, examples are given on how to handle one owns impulse and offers how young ones (and older ones) can help others too.

Overall, the books I've read from Mary Nihn so far are great for open discussions and teaching valuable and practical life lessons... while keeping it short, simple, and engaging.

As a therapist, I use these Ninja books to begin or end sessions with little ones. They love it! Some have even gotten the style of writing which presents with the ninja being "good" and then tracing back to how the ninja did not always make the right choices. They want to skip the first part to see how they overcame it. Definitely be purchasing more as soon as new ones come out

This is a very cute book about the importance of patience and not acting impulsively. I liked how it was referred to as a super power of pause. Often by renaming an attribute, a child can look at changing his behavior in a more positive manner. Instead of “I won’t act impulsively”, it becomes “I can use my superpower of pause.”

I will be reading this multiple times to my kids especially my son, who tends to be impulsive. We have worked on learning his power to Pause before even reading this boo. Impulsive Ninjas name could be Pause Ninja instead of Impulsive Ninja.
