I have gobbled up all five of the books in the series and now it is all over. Shucks. Each episode is pretty short, a series of fast, undemanding reads. Exciting tho and this is a very well thought through case of world-building.
The main character is unusual too. She is a four and a half foot tall fighter pilot from a planet settled originally by people from the Philipines. So, a tiny Philipina fighter pilot, that is a new one for me.
Most of the words are used up in descriptions of one battle or another, or getting ready for a battle or recovering from a battle. The aliens were are pretty much remain a mystery, which is just fine. They are aliens, right?
I treated the whole series as a single story and read the books back to back. I would not have done that if I didn't like the tale.
If you need some fast, light reading about the far future of mankind, and who doesn't these days, this will be a good way to spend your reading time.
