Poor Introduction

I am applying to an I/O Psychology program and was looking for reading materials before my interview. This book is dry, convoluted, and organized poorly. Sentence structure and poor comma usage (or lack there of) make it very hard to parse many sentences. There were also noticeable typos and grammatical mistakes. It is short, but I only made it half way through before giving up and I'm not sure about what I got out of it. The author uses many industry terms but uses them quickly and in passing. Therefore, it is not adequate as an introduction to the terms as there is no proper explanations, but is also not useful to someone already familiar with the terms because they would already know all of the information in this book anyway. I'm finding it hard to come up with what the intent of this book is.

A short, very direct book. Those with no knowledge of I/O Psychology can use it to learn about the different types of I/O psych as well as careers in the field. Those with prior I/O knowledge won't gain much in regards to concepts in this book, but will learn a bit about directing their own expertise into a specific field of I/O that they find interesting. If you have a spare 30-45 minutes and are interested in I/O, I suggest getting this easy read.

This is not a real book. It is very poorly written and published by the author. The way it is written resembles a Psych 101 student paper. This was a waste of money and I hope this review prevents others from making the same mistake I did.
