His work just followed him home.
The government wanted to unlock hidden abilities in the human mind.
They put subjects in extreme sensory deprivation.
All the test subjects went violently insane.
But the research continued.
Today it has been perfected.
Almost perfected.

About the author

T.J. Payne is the author of:
The Venue,
Intercepts,
and
In My Father's Basement.
T.J. Payne writes primarily in the horror and thriller genres. His writing style relies on a light touch, using lean, smooth prose to build and maintain the story's intensity. Through this style, Payne weaves in deeper themes and questions about human nature, particularly the subtle line between Good and Evil. Traditional Hero and Villain archetypes are often flipped in Payne's work. His characters may not always be likable, but their faults and sins are profoundly human.
Humans are the only species on Earth with the capability to create both great beauty and unspeakable acts of cruelty. The exploration of that duality has always been central to Payne's work.
Despite his gritty, dark work, Payne lives a very happy, non-murderous life. He married his high school sweetheart and together they enjoy exploring National Parks with their dog Frank (on leash and with plenty of poop bags, of course; he’s not a sociopath).

It was dark, gory & suspenseful! Complete with an awesome little twist at the end! Everything I love in a book.
I will definitely be reading more of Payne’s work! :)

Intercepts is a horror mixed with a bit of dystopian sci-fi and it really works. The main character, Joe, is very complex. Despite some dislikeable actions I always felt sympathetic towards him. The same goes for pretty much every character throughout, with one exception - that's good though, I would be worried if I had ended the story liking that exception.
Every character is layered and realistic, their actions and journeys all make sense. The mark of a very skilled storyteller.
I can't say much more without revealing something, so I won't. If you are a horror fan, a sci-fi fan or simply just enjoy good writing you should give this book a go. You won't regret it.
Okay, just one reveal......... The dog is fine ☺

When i first started reading this book i was a bit sceptical at first as things do seem to progress slowly however as you get further into the book you get so much new information that just shocks you. Personally i really like the book as it has such vivid descriptions of how the antennas act and how they were digging their bodies inside out. Another thing i also really liked were all the plot twists that you just unexpectedly get at the end of the book! I was so shocked when i found out that joe had become one of the antennas😯 (i may be wrong but that is how i interpreted the ending)
Overall this book is just a masterpiece🤭 -> from a fellow teen reader

Brilliantly written , the story and characters played out like a movie .
Highly recommended
