Editorial Reviews

Review

"Invaluable is an absolute masterclass in accelerated career development". When I was a job seeker, my biggest pet peeve was 'experts' who told me what to do at a high level but didn't show me how to actually do it. Maya breaks that mold in this book. She pairs personal stories with highly actionable, step-by-step breakdowns of the 10 skills every high achiever needs to master. I always say that you should only take advice from people who already have what you want.
Having worked at Google, Microsoft, and as the founder of a thriving consultancy, Maya truly walks the walk. If you're serious about taking your career and your life to new heights, you can't afford to miss this book."
 ―Austin Belcak, Founder Cultivated Culture

Looking for a step by step plan to recession-proof your career?Well, look no further. In this book, Maya Grossman literally shows you step by step how to become an INVALUABLE employee. The book is a guide on how to master the ten skills you will need to level-up your career.
What I love most about the book is how Maya uses her own career as an example to teach you those 10 skills. She proves that if you execute the lessons in her book, you will be INVALUABLE to any company regardless if you are an entry-level employee at a flower shop or a VP at a top tech company.
―Daniel Botero, Founder, Mastering College To Career Academy

Maya Grossman's Invaluable is a gem in the library of career books. The definition of an invaluable employee is laid bare by her first-hand experiences, her honest accounts of what it takes to arrive there, and her simple strategies that enable you to do the same if you do the work on both your mindset and your approach to your career. A real gem, and a true game changer. Embrace it. It'll change your career trajectory. ―Farnoosh Brock, Business and Leadership Coach. Author of The Serving Mindset.

Do you want to win at corporate life? Then this book is a must read.
As Maya says, being Invaluable is hard work. But there's no doubt that her methodology, clearly outlined in easy to read and understandable prose, is the correct recipe for corporate success. Delighting and overdelivering for clients, solving unanticipated problems, and a whole plethora of other "invaluable" tips are undeniably the way to win. This book is particularly valuable for young professionals who are just starting out. I wish I had a resource like this when I joined the corporate world, as I could have avoided so many of the traps that I had to learn the hard way.
―Jonathan Tesser, VP Research, Insights and Analytics at NYC & Company, Career Whisperer for Young Professionals

"One of the best Career Development books of all time" ―BookAuthority

Maya is a marketing consultant who works with startups and Fortune 500 companies to help them build high-performing marketing teams. Earlier in her career, she was the VP of Marketing at Colu, a Fintech startup that delivers mobile payment solutions. Before that, she led Product Marketing at Microsoft and was the Head of Digital Marketing at SodaStream, a consumer goods company that was acquired for $3.2 billion dollars. Previously, Maya was an executive director at an award-winning PR and Social Media agency.

Throughout her 15-year career, Maya was able to work for companies like Microsoft and Google, receive multiple promotions and raises, and strategically level up from an individual contributor to a VP. 5.0 out of 5 stars It's like having a real CAREER COACH speaking to you directly
Reviewed in the United States on September 22, 2020
I don't know how she does it, but it felt like author Maya Grossman was actually mentoring me personally through the pages. It's as if she knew what I wanted to do in life & what I'm capable of!

"Invaluable" is a practical guide to personal growth, with beautifully written stories and original insights. Every chapter ends with a checklist and a summary.

And the best thing is- ANYONE can start using these methods in their life starting today, no matter where they’re currently working or in what field. I think you'll have the same magical "career coach" feeling as well. Oh, and if you're in Marketing, you'll especially love this book.

My only criticism is that it's too short. But maybe in 5-10 years we can read stories about the next chapter of the author's life :-)
