Love this movie!

I ordered the Blu-ray edition of this movie and I must say that I am very happy. The quality is great. This is one of the most underrated movies of it's time and I was willing to buy it since it is so hard to find on any streaming service that I have. I hadn't seen it in years and it was as good as I remember. Very happy with this purchase.

I've followed Drew Barrymore's career since she was about 5 (don't worry, I'm only 2 years older than her, she's 45, now and I'm 47) and I LOVE HER, and her POSITIVITY!!! This was one of her BEST childhood performances!

I love this film .It shows what it is like when adults divorce and still fight after the divorce is final. In this film the child wants nothing to do with her parents because the parents are so self involved that she suffers. A story the rang true in 1984 that still rings true in 2013. Nobody in this film gives a false performance. I was waiting for years for a DVD release and when it came out I was so disappointed and here is why..

THE MGM DVD release was terrible. They used the same transfer as the original VHS release. In fact the MGM was so cheap to make a new transfer that the old VESTRON LOGO WAS INCLUDED on this release. The original Vestron transfer was made in 1985! (Vestron also has not been around since 1991)! So on the DVD the picture was fuzzy and had a washed out look to it.

Also the talent behind the camera is amazing. This film also has a brilliant comedic performance by Sharon Stone. It was one of her first roles. In fact I became a fan of hers because of this film. I also have the poster of this film hanging on my wall.

I think all divorced parents should watch this with their children. (Just Cover their eyes because there is a brief topless scene)

I can not say enough good things about this film.....

I have always loved this film. I think Shelley Long, Ryan O'Neal, and Drew Barrymore all give excellent performances. I hadn't seen the film in years, although I did have it on VHS. When I heard it was coming to DVD, I was very excited.

I am tremendously disappointed in the quality though. The film is fullscreen, but I'm pretty sure that is not the original aspect ratio. Also, the picture quality seems pretty bad. I was tempted to try my VHS and see if the quality was better there -- after about 20 years deterioration.

If you love this movie, I'm sure you will buy it like I did. I am hoping though, that this movie gets a better release soon.

Irreconcilable Differences is a great movie with brilliant performances. I feel it has always been underrated, and it is kind of a slap in the face to get a release like this. It deserves better.

A fun watch with good actors and a fairly good story line.

For me, this was a C+ movie. I saw it when it first came out and have had access to it only once or twice on regular network television. I am a Ryan O'Neal fan. He is good in funny roles and Shelly Long does a great job in this as well and plays off Ryan's part successfully. The young Drew Barrymore gives an excellent performance as well. The story line is good but not great. The movie was funny and enjoyable to watch. The one nude scene is surprising in a movie of that era. It was brief and unexpected. You might miss it if not paying close attention.

This DVD has great clarity, totally different from the one everybody is complaining about!

I'm not gonna say much about this great, albeit obscure film. It's obvious to me that if you're searching for this, then you already know what a cute, funny awesome 80s flick this is. What I do want to say is that this Special Edition sold by Paint It Orange, has great clarity and is not at all grainy, nor does it have black outs. There's another version of this DVD sold out there for a few years now, that many have complained about, this one is DIFFERENT! Now do keep in mind, it was made in 1984 and it looks like it was made in 1984, and sometimes there is a "chapter" closing where the screen goes momentarily black, that is not a "black-out", but a pause to let you know the movie is transitioning on to a different era in their lives. All in all, I am SO HAPPY I got this all-time fave of mine.

Showed up appearing brand new, but disc appeared dirty. Wiped it off and started to play, but quit around halfway through and could not go any further! Very disappointed with this purchase!
