The Island of Dragons (Rockpools Book 4) Kindle Edition
They live within the rarefied air of exclusive restaurants, members-only clubs and exquisite privacy, where they debate the politics, art, and science that Billy yearns to master. But they also harbor a dark secret which funds it all. Except that secret is about to spectacularly implode, leaving Billy perfectly positioned to take the fall.
Soon he finds himself accused of a murder which he just might, have actually committed. And with no way out of a net that is closing around him fast, it seems this might be a very premature end for a young man’s promising career, and extra-ordinary life.
Because how can you catch a killer, when the killer is you?
The Island of Dragons is the fourth book in the international bestselling Rockpools series by British author Gregg Dunnett. I couldn’t put it down and ended up going way past my normal bedtime.

Having followed Billy since the start I really looked forward to getting book 4. It popped up on my Kindle yesterday and I read it in 2 sessions. (You have to sleep sometimes!)
Billy has grown and developed more facets as the series has progressed but I still find him an endearing soul. He sticks up for what he believes in, has the skills he needs and the function to use them.
I have enjoyed reading about Billys latest exploits as they do not disappoint.
Well done Gregg. Thank you. More please.
Billy Wheatley, the protagonist in these books is in this outing a university student living away from home. He's a clever chap and is clued up on marine biology (which he is studying and finding it too easy), computers and electronics. Although not totally naive, he is however, a little less experienced in some ways of the world. He is, if nothing else, endearing to the reader and, if they've read the previous books, even more so as he grows into adulthood.
Of course I want to tell you about such a good story, but that would never do. However I will say that it involves a love story, friendship, conservation, terrorism, the FBI and yachting! So a bit to go at there I hope. But all will become clear and, due to the excellent storytelling of Mr Dunnett, all too quickly as you spend more time reading than perhaps you should!
To end, I thoroughly enjoyed this read and cannot recommend it highly enough. I do hope there's more to come. I recall Gregg Dunnett asking his readership if he should write his next book as one in this series or not. Good decision folks!
Billy is gifted enough to get to college a year early but it's not all it's cracked up to be. If he hadn't got so distracted, I could have seen him giving lectures, but he found other things to do.
For once, he did seem to be trying quite hard to fit in with his peer group. That was never going to be easy in the 'Gatsby' circles or with some of his neanderthal housemates. I wish Amber was that little bit younger or Billy was that little bit older...,. She has been a true friend and confidante to him all the way through - chalk and cheese - but hey.
This adventure finds poor Billy way out of his depth - gripping to the end.
This story gripped me from start to finish, I read it in two sittings.
A great development in his story. I hope we won’t have to wait too long for another book by this author, I have genuinely loved all his books.
