J-B Weld Blue Silicone Gasket Maker & Sealant is an RTV (Room Temperature Vulcanized) Silicone gasketing material designed for use in mechanical assemblies, sealing and bonding even surfaces. Upon curing, which occurs when the product is exposed to the moisture in the air, the silicone forms a tough, waterproof seal on most surfaces. It will not shrink or crack, resists weathering, and is great for many automotive applications.

Worked but cracked off on hottest areas of smoker firebox.

it worked well on SOME of the areas on my smoker that don't get that hot, but some of the hot areas of my firebox on my smoker cracked and broke and flaked right off, even after a good cleaning/brushing of debris and a two day cure.I will buy some more an apply it again to confirm it's use. It did plug a lot of the needed areas though.My infared themomoter only ready at 550 degrees and the packaging stated it can hold up to 650 degrees.

I will buy some more an apply it again to confirm it's use. It did plug a lot of the needed areas though.
My infared themomoter only ready at 550 degrees and the packaging stated it can hold up to 650 degrees.

Had to do a headlight lens transplant because I dropped and smashed the glass on my stock Harley light that would have cost me $650 to replace.
I purchased a cheap knockoff simply to replace the lens. Doing this my greatest worry was that moisture would get into the housing if not sealed correctly.
Well, the very afternoon after I sealed up the new lens I get caught in some monsoon riding conditions. Visibility was less than two car lengths and lighting was too close (you know that sensation when your excrement excreter puckers...that close). Anyway... long story short, this sealed up the lens weather tight, no moisture.
I’m happy.
