About JB Lynn
Author of the never-ending Confessions of a Slightly Neurotic Hitwoman series, JB Lynn (you can call her Jen) is a Jersey girl, who was transplanted in Florida for a while and is now putting down roots in North Carolina.
When not taking photos and exploring the mountains with her rescue mutt, she also writes the Psychic Consignment Mysteries and the Cursed Chick Club series because she’s got a soft spot for hijinks, humor, and heart (not to mention an almost compulsive need to tell stories!).

Blog postLast week ONE WOMAN’S JUNK, the first of the Psychic Consignment Mysteries, was released. Here’s my favorite line from an Amazon reviewer:
“Let’s just say my kids were in Heaven because they had pizza and all the screen time so I could read this book straight through because putting it down was not an option.”
Isn’t that awesome?!?! Who doesn’t love getting lost in a book like that?

Blog postThis is a random post, but all of these comments amused or touched me today.
Little girl studying my purple hair: “Red and blue make purple. Does that mean you’re mad and sad?”
Friend 1: “I’m nominating you for the Pain in the Ass of the Day Award.”
Hours later from Friend 2: “You are worth waiting and fighting for.”

Blog postI love my job…but…I hate starting to write.
Not because I hate writing, but because I am constantly trying to overcome my fear.
Most of the time I approach writing with a knot in my stomach, a distracted buzzing in my brain, and dread in my heart.
And yet, most days, I force myself to write. Most days I really enjoy it once I get into some kind of flow. Almost always, I end up feeling better for having done it.
My favorite Dorothy Parker quote is, “I hate writi3 years ago Read more -
Blog postI’ve printed out the manuscript for ONE WOMAN’S JUNK in preparation to make the (hopefully) last pass of story edits.
I’ve put the pages in my big, shiny binder (after somehow massacring the job I did of three-hole-punching) and have started scribbling on them.
((Hmmm, the photo makes it look like sand, which is fitting for a book that’s set in a beach town, but in person it’s more like gold glitter.)
This is my process…gold glitter binder, paper and purple ink.3 years ago Read more -
Blog postThere’s a lot to like about living in Florida, but the brutal summer heat isn’t one of them.
The heat index was over 100 degrees multiple days this first official week of summer, so basically if you hear someone calling weakly, “I’m melting” there’s a good chance it’s me.
But it rained last night for hours and knocked the temperature down, which meant that this morning’s walk was comfortable and it’s still cool enough that I’m able to sit outside while I do some work.

Blog postI’m jealous of my writer friends who work on one project at a time.
I can’t do that. I have way too many ideas.
In order to manage my insanity, I’ve decided to only work on three writing projects per day.
Currently I’m:
Working on story edits for One Woman’s Junk. Writing the first draft of Hitwoman 21. Writing a screenplay, which we can call Monsters. (This is my “fun” project and I’m trying to limit myself to only working on it for about 15 -20 minutes per day.)3 years ago Read more -
Blog postI was commiserating with a writer friend earlier about how difficult it is to wait for developmental story edits.
We were discussing how our minds play tricks on us as we wait.
For example, I’m ALWAYS convinced my editor is going to tell me that what I’ve come up with is absolutely awful and I should quit this writing game immediately.
Every. Single Time.
Because of this, right now I’m thinking the ONE WOMAN’S JUNK will not be the first in my Psychic Consignmen3 years ago Read more -

But I’m thrilled to report that I’ve sent my new book, One Woman’s Junk to my developmental story editor!
I’ll be explaining more about why these items were important to my creative process as we get closer to the release date.

Blog postI recently completed a month-long challenge to try to learn to draw.
I knew I wasn’t going to be good at it, but I figured I’d give it a try since I thought that thinking differently would be good for my brain.
I felt compelled to share my efforts daily on Instagram — like the universe was pretty much screaming, “Put it out there!” kind of compelled.

Maggie Lee knows she should "just say no" to retired US Marshal Lawrence Griswal when he asks for her help. But when has Maggie ever NOT helped a family member?
At Griswald's request she partners with Nat Hunting to figure out what the hold up is with Griswald getting his private investigator license. It doesn't sound that complicated or dangerous, but somehow Maggie ends up dancing with an octopus, breaking into a morgue, and facing off against a killer (armed only with a magnifying glass).
She’ll need the help of her loyal pets, some psychic guidance and more than a smidge of luck to survive this investigation.
Even though they drive her crazy, Maggie Lee is all about family.
Now it seems her half-brother has gotten himself into trouble with someone known as The Security Guard.
Luckily (or not!) The Security Guard is now proving to be a problem for the mob boss she works for and he wants him taken out.
Maggie jumps at the chance to get rid of the danger to her brother and the thorn in her boss’s side.
But her assassination attempt doesn’t go as planned. (Do they ever?)
Now she's the target of The Security Guard’s wrath.
Can old friends, new allies and her loyal pets save her?
Crazy fellow guests, a missing couple, a human skull, and someone trying to kill her is what she ends up getting.
With the help of the core members of her menagerie and a new furry friend, Maggie tries to figure out what’s going on while staying alive and how to salvage her romantic weekend.
But a killer has other plans…
Maggie Lee is about to find out.
When Maggie humors her quirky, psychic friend and agrees to a long-delayed night of “fun” she has to deal with the uniquely challenging dynamics of her female friends and family, a roomful of people who could potentially reveal her secret life, and a distraught, emotional support guinea pig.
Not to mention that her mom, who’s out on a temporary pass from the nut house, claims to have witnessed a murder.
It’s going to be a memorable night for Maggie and the girls, but will it prove deadly?
Take three wacky aunts,
two talking animals,
one nervous bride,
and an upcoming hit,
and you've got the follow-up
to JB Lynn's wickedly funny
Confessions of a Slightly Neurotic Hitwoman
Knocking off a drug kingpin was the last thing on Maggie Lee's to-do list, but when a tragic accident leaves her beloved niece orphaned and in the hospital, Maggie will go to desperate lengths to land the money needed for her care.
But the drug kingpin is the least of her worries. Maggie's aunts are driving her crazy, her best friend's turned into a bridezilla…and a knock on the head has given Maggie Dr. Dolittle abilities—she can talk to animals. Unfortunately, they talk back.
It's just another day in the life of this neurotic hitwoman…
When bumbling hitwoman Maggie Lee is asked by her mob boss employer to kill a cop, she wants to say no.
When her sexy murder mentor, Patrick Mulligan tells her the cop in question is a guy she once dated, she REALLY wants to refuse.
But when her former date, Paul Kowalski tries to kill her, she changes her tune to “Hell, yes!”
Maggie and Patrick grow closer as they scramble to figure out what it is that Kowalski is looking for and what it has to do with her prison escapee father.
Maggie’s search is hampered by the presence of US Marshals hunting her father and her crazier-than-usual family.
Along with her snarky talking lizard, grammatically-challenged Doberman, and a pissy cat, she races to solve the mystery and protect her family. But nothing in Maggie’s life ever goes as planned….
When Maggie Lee helps an old man who’s fallen, she ends up working as a courier for his well-to-do son.
Proud of herself for landing a legitimate job that doesn’t involve a windowless office, Maggie ignores red flags and the concerns of God that all may not be what it seems. She’s too busy traversing the landmines of literacy involving a certain mobster’s grandson and juggling the two men who both want more from their relationships with her.
Maggie’s already stressed out when things go wrong, really wrong, with a delivery. A man’s dead and the police know about her involvement with him.
With the help of her pets and the two men vying for her affections, Maggie must figure out what the heck is going on…or God may be lost forever.
When the mysterious Ms. Whitehat asks her to work at a dentist’s office to gain access to a safe, Maggie can’t say no.
She probably should have turned down her murder mentor, Patrick Mulligan, when he wants her to tail a suspicious cop, but she owes him.
And she also couldn’t refuse to help US Marshal Griswald when he requests her assistance to solve one last case before he retires.
Speaking of his retirement, Aunt Susan is planning the party of the century for him and she expects Maggie to bring a date.
But making it to the party on time may prove difficult since repaying her debts has resulted in Maggie doing a dangerous dance with a killer.
Maggie’s life is always complicated, but her tenuous balancing act becomes even more dangerous when she’s given the job of stealing a teddy bear from the grandson of the mobster Delveccio.
As she struggles to keep the different facets of her life separate, her family faces multiple threats to their safety, and there’s a very real chance she won’t be able to protect everyone she loves.
Her best chance at success depends on the help of her pets…and you can bet they all have something to say about that.
Her mother's escaped from the loony bin, and rumor has it she's robbing people for ice cream money.
A mob boss is insisting she liberate his daughter from a mental hospital that Maggie's pretty sure she belongs in.
And people keep trying to kill her.
While Maggie deals with all that, she must also contend with her dysfunctional family; the challenges of parenting her orphaned niece; a handsome, but dangerously curious reporter; a hot manny who lives under her roof and gets under her skin; a smooth and sexy con man; and a certain murder mentor/cop redhead. And, honestly, it's getting too much to bear. Good thing she has her talking animals to confide in.
But with everything that's going on, can the intrepid, yet inept, hitwoman figure out how to keep everyone she loves safe without ending up in jail or killed?
Or will she just take up residence in a rubber room herself? Truth be told, she could use the break.
But that's not the only problem Maggie and her menagerie are dealing with. It's not even the biggest one.
The person who is threatening to kill Maggie's entire family needs to be dealt with.
Things are going to get messy...even by Maggie's standards.
