Strange film

I love Robin Williams and have seen most of his films and usually enjoy them. This one, however, was just bizarre. Much of the movie is family-oriented middle school humor. Los of fart and diarrhea jokes along with physical humor. But then other parts are dark and adult-oriented. There's an extensive segment where 10-year-olds look at pornography. Later, adults in a bar talk about getting spanked during sex. Parts of the movie are either too dumb for adults or too rotten for kids, so I'm not sure whom this film is for.

Not sure what age audience this is made for.

I did not like this movie. Love Robin Williams and he did a great job acting like the most naïve 10 year old that ever existed. This movie was uncomfortable/cringey through many parts.
I find it hard to believe that all the kids/teachers knew about his condition but the mom (played by Fran Drescher) did not. Watching an adult woman come onto a boy was gross.
Watching his 10 year old friends use him to buy porno mags was gross.
Full disclosure, I watched the first half of the movie (to the tree house falling scene) and then fast forwarded and watched pieces of the rest. Just couldn't stomach it anymore.

Touching and heart-warming

I really liked this movie a lot. Robin Williams plays his part in every movie with such feeling and gusto that it can't be missed. It's the story of a child with the genetics that cause him to age rapidly and the pains of going to a public school and having to fit in with his classmates. He's a little boy with all the features and body of an aging man. Played expertly by Robin Williams, it at first by nature is a little uncomfortable, but in the hands of Robin it warms the heart and lifts the spirits. Very touching ending as only Williams can deliver.

OK movie, but the score is unbearably cheesy.

As a musician I couldn't be more distracted by the pseudo-Danny Elfman-esque score (which is NOT a compliment in the slightest). If the music is such that it is obnoxiously derivative (and/or cliché) to the point that one can't help but get an insanely-distracting, musically-induced-headache instead of enjoying the movie, it's a massive failure that warrants no excuse. And I'm saying this as someone with profound respect for, and has studied, Michael Kamen (and Coppola), but this score is just god-awful. Such a shame. I can't talk too much trash about the rest of the movie, though. But apparently a good score is vital to good a movie... who knew?...

10 years old??

You know... I have never seen a 10 yo act like he does. He acts more like a 10 yo with, well, mental issues. But he is supposed to be just a normal 10 yo with an accelerated body. I don't know, I just found this movie a little over the top and foolish more then it was entertaining.

Worst Robin Williams movie .....ever!!!

This movie was awful, awful awful...... many scenes were just creepy & cringy. Not funny at all.
Who was the target audience here?

Not really an adult film, but i do not think it would be very entertaining for kids eiher....Would not show this movie to kids....I watched it bc it got high ratings, and I like Williams as an actor. I thought it might get better at some point or there was something more to story. Take a huge pass on this one.....

Aging rapidly physically but still just a boy wanting to be accepted

Another great movie from Mr. Robin Williams! Robin Williams plays Jack, a 10 year old boy who physically ages rapidly but mentally he is still a boy. Often times people are picked on for being different and it goes to show that given the opportunity, you may see they are just like you. This is what Jack does showing the other kids that he may look different but he's a lot like them and it's wonderful when they begin to accept and like him! I enjoyed it and may have cried a little!
