No Car Chases — Just a Great Story with Great Actors & Wonderful Music
Verified purchase
If you’re looking for adventure, shootouts, explosions, spy games, and car chases, this movie is not for you. If you’re looking for vulgar language, explicit bedroom scenes, and shallow characters, this movie is not for you, either. However, if you’d like a moving story with great characters and amazing music, this is your movie. The characters are authentic without being edgy, and they are completely relatable. Some reviewers have mentioned the slow pace of the film, but the lack of frantic scenes and frenetic activity fit the plot, setting, and characters perfectly. This is a BEAUTIFUL film, and the ending is exquisite. I immediately downloaded the soundtrack — the songs are absolutely wonderful, and the voices of Ben Barnes and Katherine Heigl and others add to their haunting and timeless beauty. The movie is suitable for all ages; the one “bedroom” scene consists only of conversation and tenderness, nothing explicit at all. I know I will watch this movie again And again.

Where am I going next and how and I going to get there?

I found this movie inspirational. It's two people crossing paths exactly when they needed someone for support and acceptance. They give each other the strength they need to do what they need to do. I thought the music was amazing and may buy the soundtrack. The end was perfect because, to me, it wasn't an end, it was a beginning for them.

Engaging and Inspirational

I really enjoyed this movie. It's sweet and engaging. You care about the characters and it's well acted. I loved the pacing and the darkness of the scenery. I think it mirrored the background emotions. I took off 1 star because of the foul language and use of Jesus Christ. It felt like they forced it in to be edgy and it just didn't fit.

The Search for Purpose Absent the Usual Demands

Running from the past meets looking forward to the next stop. How perfect that they should meet each other.
They support and encourage each other because that's what friends do: unselfishly desiring the highest good for the other.
Well crafted script and well developed characters. Loved the music!
A different kind of film. I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Loved the movie

Loved the movie. Very original. So well written, directed, and acted. I must watch out for this director's work in the future. Thank God for "independent" films or we'd all be adolescents!. In fact, if I can stop being lazy I intend to get in touch with the producers to see if I can mail the writer/director thanking her directly myself.

In a different vein, I think Ms. Heigl absolutely correct in her criticism of her movie Knocked Up, which, in fact I enjoyed very much. So amazing that people can get so riled up when someone expresses the truth.

Ben Barns makes this movie worth watching
Verified purchase
I will look for other movies with Ben Barnes. He did a good job as a quiet musician drifting where his music takes him. The songs match the movie and mood well. For me, there is a disconnect with Jackie, played by Katherine Heigl, and the rest of the movie . The writer could have done a better job with the role of Jackie... less NYC drama and more Utah strong. All other actors are well cast.

Its' about the music y'all!!

I loved this laid back & very unique folky tale. Great acting, depth, & fantastic visuals. But what separates this unusual flick from 99% of musical /drama movies is the incomparable Americana music herein. Whether project originals or innovative classic re-inventing, all have amazing instrumentation with real musicians, & perfect soulful vocals. Loved it!

Sincere, Clean and Gorgeous

This is a wonderful clean indie movie that is the way life use to be.. uncomplicated and simple. Filmed in 20 days in beautiful Utah with earning proceeds of a little over $19,000. I can't believe it didn't receive more publicity given the excellent soundtrack,,So happy to see it is getting the rave reviews and attention it should have gotten when released 5 years ago..
