I don't understand the "nothing new" complaints...did you really expect Dahmer to rise from the grave and tell us something else?? Tsk, stupid.
You can *clearly* see how conflicted both the neighbor and good cop are. It's heartbreaking. I couldn't imagine being in that spot, on one hand the good kind neighbor--then BAM!! I wish I could tell her that she did NOT eat a person, he wasn't the type to share or let his secret out of the bag to someone so close, that it WAS actual sandwich meat, bless her heart. She being the only person to cry when he was killed...that had to be hard. Forget outer judgment, nobody cares about that (well, some folks do)...it had to be hard. Ditto the cop in many regards, you can see him actively struggling to say, "He was a nice guy," but CAN'T cuz all things point to how inaccurate that is on the other hand. The Medical Examiner...another one who still obviously cannot wrap his head around what he saw...
I also think that the entire setting is QUIET, because Dahmer WAS quiet. This is what people were dealing with, a quiet man...his crimes were anything but quiet, tho. I think these people are praying for quiet, know what I mean? In their own heads: I can only imagine how loud things are rattling around in them.
Compassion required for this episode.
