About Jenny Laird
Jenny was a long-time Resident Playwright at Chicago Dramatists before settling in the Berkshires hills of Western Massachusetts. While in Chicago, she authored several award-winning plays: BALLAD HUNTER (Chicago’s Cunnigham Prize for Playwriting), SKY GIRLS (NEA Grant, Selma Melvoin New Play Award) and ONLY THE SOUND (Illinois Arts Council Grant, Chicago’s Jeff Award for Outstanding New Work, 2002). Since moving to the Berkshires, she has been collaborating with Will Osborne and Randy Courts on creating musical theatre adaptations of the Magic Tree House series for both national and international audiences. Their work also includes shows for young performers, available through Music Theatre International’s Broadway Kids ® Collection.
