Solid Documentary about an Amazing Man
Verified purchase
This documentary was a solid effort to tell the rich story of John Lewis. I appreciated learning more about the man and watching him watch footage of his life's work. It is a life well lived. Thank you, Mr. Lewis, and thank you Ms. Porter for sharing his story.

Important work!

I knew about Rep. John Lewis before this documentary, but know so much more now about him after watching John Lewis: Good Trouble. I appreciate learning the information. It was a good stylistic choice to have the story weave back and forth from the present day to historical times. What a great film! This would be perfect for teachers to use in the classroom.

Wonderful Legacy-Great Movie-Blueprints to Legislation
Verified purchase
This documentary demonstrates the importance of a higher calling. John's life mission was in his genes, as is ours. He truly exemplified living what you believe and becoming what you want to see, even in the face of adversity. It is all very simple, as a nation, and in order to protect our democracy, we should always do what is right, register to vote, and let one's voice count by submitting a ballot on election day. Congressman Lewis's blueprint for doing good amidst so much trouble, his passion, consistency, and demonstrated efforts toward paths to new legislation really leave no room for excuse. What a wonderful legacy. Thank you, Erica Alexander and Dawn Porter!

Disservice to Mr. Lewis
Verified purchase
I was really looking forward to this documentary about the work and life of John Lewis. Instead, what I got was some information about Mr. Lewis and an OBVIOUS political advertisement, interviewing people who were clearly not in Mr. Lewis’ inner circle, but instead are current political celebrities. I wish I had never purchased this movie. I can find information about this impressive man on my own without current politics being shoved down my throat.

This was so needed. A reminder to all that the fight continues to honor those that began the fight, and encourage those that will come. What a great man.

Great movie about a living legend and hero

Loved the movie but unfortunately amazon streaming would not stop buffering and stopping every 30 seconds so I had to buy the movie all over again from Verizon On demand to watch it. Lesson learned will not buy any streaming items from amazon again.
