mostly just boring.

It's tempting to say this movie "doesn't hold up" but I really don't think it would ever have been good. I think the only demographic that could possibly find this movie funny would be adolescent boys.

As it is, it's not funny, not particularly entertaining, and the plot is not interesting.

This didn't age well...

Overall, it's not an interesting plot and the entire movie is stuck in that 80s teen comedy genre that by 1988, it was already over done. And as far as how it was written and how hollywood treated women and teens, well, it's embarrassing for all involved.

It wasn't even funny. Just writing this feels wasteful.

Great Cast, good story

I really like the characters in this movie; The main character, Johnny Depp, Uma Thurman and the grandfather were all terrific. A young Johnny Depp is very entertaining and plays the role of the goofy best friend very well. Can never go wrong with a good 80's soundtrack.

Waste of a blu-ray disc. Edited version....why bother??

One of my favorite cheezy 80's comedies. Would have given it more stars but yet again they decided to put out the EDITED version of the movie. Most of the nudity has been omitted a the elongated Ol' Tex shenanigans have been all but excised. Save your money. Or if you still have a laserdisc player you can watch it the.

Great 80s Nostalgia

A captivating lighthearted romp though the corrupt high school football recruiting programs by universities of the 80s.

Lots of great actors from the 80s including Robert Downey Jr and the very first screen appearance by Uma Thurman.

This is one of those movies that ages well. Thoroughly enjoyable from beginning to end.
