Review

Jonathan Little collaborating with Jon Van Fleet (Apestyles online) makes this book a must-purchase if you want to work on your game. This book touches on a number of topics that are at the forefront of the poker world today such as the heavily popular PKO bounty tournaments and making adjustments from GTO play in order to exploit your opponents. A vast array of subjects are covered in the book which will help even an already serious poker player improve their game. -- Chris Moorman, Professional Poker Player

Jonathan Little continues to offer up the best poker advice in the business for both part time poker hobbyists and seasoned professionals. Excelling at Tough No-Limit Hold'em Games is a must read for anyone who takes their poker game seriously -- Card Player magazine

If you're someone like me, who loves the theoretical side of poker but doesn't get to play as much as you'd like, this book is perfect. It smartly covers how to implement both GTO and exploitative strategies in thorny spots that come up all the time but haven't gotten much attention from other books. I can already think of tons of hands where it's going to win me extra chips." -- Nate Silver, Founder of FiveThirtyEight.com and New York Times Bestselling Author of The Signal and the Noise.

Let's face it, no-limit hold'em isn't the same game many of us learned in the Mid-2000s. It's evolved considerably and players have gotten better. As a result, the games are tougher. In order to compete nowadays, you must evolve with it. In Excelling at Tough No-Limit Hold'em Games, Jonathan Little and his assembled experts will not only bring you up to speed on today's game, but they will also help you stay a step ahead of the competition. -- Chad Holloway ― PokerNews.com

This book is a worthy investment of time and money for poker players of any level. I found chapters 7, 10, 13, and 14 to be especially informative. Thank you -- Brandon Adams, Professional Poker Player, Harvard Lecturer, and Author of Personal Organization for Degenerates

Jonathan Little is a phenomenal coach. I've learned so much from listening to him over the years--and I'm excited to read his latest guide to strategy. It's going straight on my shelf the moment it's released. -- Maria Konnikova, , New York Times Bestselling Author of The Biggest Bluff, The Confidence Game, and Mastermind

Jonathan Little is one of the world's premier poker coaches. A highly accomplished player himself, he has a unique knack for being able to transmit poker strategies –– no-limit hold'em tournament strategy in particular –– in an easy-to-understand way that has attracted thousands of students worldwide. Moreover, Little is an excellent judge of talent as far as knowing which professional poker players possess the various types of qualifications and expertise needed to teach students. He's assembled one hell of a line up for Excelling at Tough No-Limit Hold'em Games and it's clear that anyone who picks up this book will benefit greatly from the instruction and lessons Little and his co-authors impart. -- Robbie Strazynski, Founder of Cardplayerlifestyle.com

5.0 out of 5 stars Best book on NLH out there
By Max on October 7, 2020
I've been a fan of JL for the last 3 years (i've read every book) and am recently a pokercoaching.com student.

This book on excelling at TOUGH NLM is perfect for players trying to take their game to the next level. I've been able to fix leaks and consistently make deeper runs where prior i was min cashing at a high percentage.

My only critique is that there isn't an audible version of this book yet. I would love to listen to the content and review it as I play.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best poker book yet!!
By Jackflash19 on October 5, 2020
As a consistent live daily tournament player (as well as online) I am winning way more tournaments than before. This book presents the material in very efficient doses within each chapter and will take your game to the next level, but like coach says, STUDY!! You can’t read this book and absorb all the info, you have to do off the table work. Very very worth the purchase as is all of the other books he has written and worked on. If you love this game, you will love this book. 6/5 stars!!!
