THIS IS NOT A "G" MOVIE!!!!!
Verified purchase
Filled with curse words and hand gestures. This is NOT a family or "G" movie. This should be a PG-13 movie

Was mislead because the rating was initially G. And now it's seen corrected

I watched this movie with my whole family. Our kids were 10 and under, four of them. Before watching I saw the rating as G. And so I thought it is safe to watch.

To my shock and disappointment, it was having bad hand gestures, curse words and scenes which kids should not be watching.

Rating it to G really mislead me.

Now after few days when I look at the rating I see it is PG. May be they got some feedback and they changed it. That is a good action from them.

But this makes me think I should be making sure even if there is a rating shown in Amazon, I should double check before I watch anything again.

Thanks.

Extraordinary adventure tale!

Extraordinary adventure/action tale! Spectacular scenery! It is a family film where valuable lessons can be learned about protecting and respecting Arctic wildlife, respecting the indigenous Inuit culture and the responsibility we all have to serve, protect and honor both. I absolutely loved this movie. Luke is definitely a brave, fearless young person who follows his heart, and the bear cub is utterly delightful. Highly recommend! 5 Stars!

SHOULD NOT BE RATED G!!!
Verified purchase
THIS SHOULD NOT BE RATED G!!!! I had four kids ages 7 and under watch this and I was shocked at the cuss words, flipping the bird, uncovering a frozen dead person...I barely can find something decent on Prime that’s appropriate for my kids so I was very disappointed at this misleading rating.

If not for the scenery. . .

Very disappointed with this one. A good example of how NOT to do things in a harsh environment. The boy seemed to have no clue how to survive in a place where he lived. His misplaced priorities left me wondering why his concerns weren't more toward saving himself and those who tried to help him. Unless viewing for the scenery, not recommended.

Disappointed in the cursing.

This movie had a cute story but was quite surprised when there were several curse words. I re-checked the rating to confirm it was G. Seems to be quite a weak rating. I would not consider this G. I believe I counted around 5 or so words that were inappropriate. Pretty unnecessary. Otherwise a normal fun flick.

I love this documentary. As a newly wed and starting to think about raising a family I sincerely worry about the way society is moving. I'm 25 and I realize something is not right with the "daily grind" that literally leads no where. My husband and I hope to one day emulate this family (maybe not with that many children ;) but definitely the simplicity and family centered ways they live their daily lives. I also love the traditional aspect of this family. I have always been of the thought that women nowadays have been lied to about the corporate ladder and working outside the home is how women are empowered.... As a college educated woman who works a job I can say without a shadow of a doubt that I am happiest when I am at home doing "woman's" work. Working outside the home is miserable and is just another reason the simple life calls to me. Now, those who enjoy the corporate rat race that's fine but not all women find it desirable. If you are of christian beliefs or just really love the idea of a traditional family focused on loving each-other and self sustainability you will LOVE this documentary.
