Note that Kester offers various wire thicknesses for different pad sizes. The 0.031" wire is a good universal choice for throughhole and surface mount soldering. You can also get great lead-free wire from Kester. I personally prefer the 60/40 and the eutectic 63/37 wire for my projects because the joints hold up for decades.
Wets and flows beautifully. When used right (temp, technique) leaves solid, shiny solder joints every time. Has shown great resistence to vibration and temp cycling as well (auto sport use). It may be expensive, but if you've been stuck using crummy resin core (that may be so bad you have to use even more flux externally, looking at you radio shack), do you self a favor and try the god tier :)
