About Katie MacAlister
New York Times, USA Today, and Publishers Weekly bestseller Katie MacAlister has always loved reading. Growing up in a family where a weekly visit to the library was a given, Katie spent much of her time with her nose buried in a book. Despite her love for novels, she didn’t think of writing them until she was contracted to write a non-fiction book about software. Since her editor refused to allow her to include either witty dialogue or love scenes in the software book, Katie swiftly resolved to switch to fiction, where she could indulge in world building, tormenting characters, and falling madly in love with all her heroes.
Two years after she started writing novels, Katie sold her first romance, Noble Intentions. More than fifty books later, her novels have been translated into numerous languages, been recorded as audiobooks, received several awards, and are regulars on the bestseller lists. She also writes for the young adult audience as Katie Maxwell.
Katie lives in the Pacific Northwest with two dogs and a cat, and can often be found lurking around online.

Blog postI have a love/hate relationship with poinsettias. I think they're pretty, but I can't keep one alive. No matter what I try. So your 365 question of the day is: are you a poinsettia greenthumb, or do you--like me--bring them to their early demise?

Blog post365 question: normally I dislike days that are specified for giving, but I do use this day to remind me to donate to my favorite dog charity (Old Dog Haven). How do you feel about days that urge peeps to give? Is it something that we need, or kind of pushy and invasive?

Blog post365 question: IMHO, this was a day that changed the world. What day do you feel was just as (or more) significant in world history? 9/11? End of WWII? Men walking on the Moon? Hit me with your world-changing days.

Blog post365 question: what one thing you could do as a kid but not as an adult would you want to relive? For me, it's decorating the Christmas tree. That was always a magical experience as a child. As an adult, I like the result more than the journey.

Blog post365 question of the day: are you a fan of deep philosophical thoughts, or are you a hummin' right along without too much thinking about things sort of person? I will admit to having an odd personal philosophy that keeps me quirky.

Sometimes, happily ever after takes its own sweet time...
When Moonbeam Swiftcloud Nakai went to England on a scholarship and fell in love with a Greek student named Neo, she never thought her life would be one of regret, lost love, and oppression. But Romeo and Juliet weren't the only star-crossed lovers around, and Beam and Neo were separated, doomed to be forever apart.
Until the day when Beam is forced to go back to Greece to face everything she'd tried so hard to forget. When her beloved niece falls afoul of the same person who broke her heart in the past, Beam is determined to make things right. And if that includes facing down her former husband Neo, then so be it.
Neo had spent his life trying--and failing--to forget the only woman he'd ever loved, but her betrayal broke more than just his heart. So when Beam marches back into his life with a demand that he stop picking on her niece, he's alternately overjoyed and dismayed -- there's no denying that life has thrown them together for a reason.
Only this time, he's not sure he can survive another betrayal. Can he salvage their relationship, or will he be doomed to repeat the same mistakes?
They call me soulless. A destroyer of innocents. An apocalypse waiting to happen.
That’s what getting dumped at the altar will do to you.
Keeley Moore was as happy as a proverbial clam when he found his Beloved, the one woman fated to be the love of his immortal life. Jenna was smart, had a quirky mind, and promised to be the salvation he had long sought. And then she left him at the altar without so much as a single word of explanation. Naturally, he swept up the tattered remains of his heart, and swore to forget her. One hundred and thirty years later, he’s still trying NOT to think about her.
Jenna Boyle has no idea who is the tortured, tormented, and sexy-as-sin man who claims she betrayed him a century ago, but she’s not overly worried about their past. It’s the present that concerns her, mostly in getting Keeley free from the monsters who have turned him from a peaceful vampire into a Thrall, the dreaded ancestor of all Dark Ones…one who is about to go into a murderous, unstoppable killing spree. Then there’s the Weaver’s Council, who threaten to banish Jenna for crimes she doesn’t remember committing.
Although Keeley is determined to keep Jenna from hurting him again, he’s drawn to her time after time. And it’s getting increasingly difficult to convince himself that she would be better off without him in her life. If only he could find the source of his enthrallment…if only he could find a way to save Jenna without destroying himself…if only he had a future.
One Thrall and his Beloved, a bestie with a male harem, and a group of intrepid tourists tackling an international organization bent on the destruction of the mortal world…it’s just another day in the world of Katie MacAlister’s Dark Ones.
The last man Alexandra Whitney wants is the one she needs…
New Woman, Suffragette, and recently freed from a tyrannical father, Alex arrives in London determined to do everything she was forbidden to do, from fighting for women’s rights to dressing in the latest fashions, mingling in society, and taking a lover.
When Alex literally runs into a sinfully attractive, but highly annoying man with the unlikely name of Griffin, she’s not at all surprised that he is brother to the suffrage movement’s fiercest enemy. But it’s not long before Alex realizes that the web of intrigue surrounding Griffin involves more than just fighting the attraction between them.
For Griffin isn’t just stubborn, he’s in deadly peril, and it’s up to Alex to prove to him that although she might have lived a sheltered life, even she knows they need to work together if they want to survive the threat that looms over them both.
Can Alex abandon a life she’s dreamed of to join forces with a man who stands for everything opposite to her? And if not, how is she going to live with a heart that’s not just broken, it’s crushed beyond repair?
Note: this book was originally published as Suffragette in the City. It was heavily revised in 2021.

A Girl’s Guide to Vampires is the first book in New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Katie MacAlister’s wonderfully winning Dark Ones series—a perfect blend of sexy and fun that every devoted fan of Lynsay Sand’s popular Argeneau vampire books will want to sink their teeth into.
Joy Randall's Top 5 Tips for Vampire Hunters:
- Location, location, location. Vampires won't be caught dead (ha!) in places like discos, ten-minute lube shops, or Switzerland. Remember, if you wouldn't be there, neither would a bloodsucker.
- Trust your eyes. You know the handsome, annoyingly arrogant, self-assured man in the shadows with long hair and a cleft in his chin? He's your vampire.
- No matter how tempting it might be, do not "accidentally" acquire a paper cut on your finger and suggest your vampire kiss it to make it better.
- Play it cool. Don't offer to accompany your prince of the night on the talk-show circuit, and whatever you do, don't offer him your heart!
- Most of all, remember: being a vampire is nothing to laugh about.
The story of a desperate ghost hunter who stumbles across a dashing bloodsucker who’s looking for eternal love, A Girl’s Guide to Vampires is funny, steamy, sensuous, and surprising—everything anyone could want from a paranormal romance.
