Blog postThis is the first of many. I hope to write at least one blog a month... maybe two. The books I have planned keep me pretty busy writing these days. Well, that and reading. I may write a little, but I am first and foremost a reader.
I remember my teacher in 5th grade asking a question about the story we were reading in class. You remember how that went, each student reads a paragraph or section in the reading book, a collection of short stories. She could see my book was turned towards th3 years ago Read more

They couldn’t afford a ship, much less the cost of registering one. But there is always a loophole…
Harmon Tomeral wanted nothing more than to go to space. Sent to an orphanage when his parents were killed in a sandstorm, the odds were stacked against him. Despite that, he made it to the academy and graduated in the top ten percent of his class…only to find out the fleet did what it wanted, regardless of regulations, and he came from the wrong planet.
He didn’t give up his dream, though, because where there’s a will, there’s a loophole, and Harmon and his friends found their loophole in the Top Fleet Marine competition—the winner would get 100,000 credits, which would just be enough to start their own salvage company. If they could build a mech and win the competition, they would be set.
But the fleet had already shown they didn’t want him in space, so it would be an uphill fight. Good thing his friends and crew were very much against fleet regulations.
Harmon Tomeral, along with friends Clip, Zerith, and the artificial intelligence Jayneen, were heroes. Having brought back the battlecruiser Salvage Title from an unknown system, they defeated the alien Squilla and saved their home system of Tretrayon, although they lost the computer holding Jayneen in the battle.
But the Squilla are coming back.
And, not only are they coming, they have also recruited the alien Krift to help them destroy the Tretrayon system. Their fleet is enormous and will easily defeat the few remaining ships Harmon has to defend the system. Tomeral and Associates are going to need a fleet of their own!
In order to get them, though, they need an operational Jayneen, so they will have to go back to her system and find another computer for her to inhabit. If they can. Then they will have to find and convert ships in her home system, hire mercenaries, and buy more ships—none of which Harmon knows anything about—before the Squilla lay waste to their system.
The Squilla are coming, and they’re prepared to do whatever it takes to destroy the Tretrayon System, Salvage Title, and, most importantly, Harmon Tomeral! And his time is quickly running out…
Harmon Tomeral, along with friends Clip, Zerith, and the artificial intelligence Jayneen, were heroes. They’d brought back the battlecruiser Salvage Title from an unknown system and had defeated the alien Squilla and saved their home system of Tretrayon, not once, but twice.
But now they have a system of their own, and the Bith are about to open it up to the galaxy at large.
With two habitable planets, there is sure to be…interest…in the system, and other alien races are already looking to see what can be “acquired” from it. There’s also the matter of the people who Harmon has bested, who are looking forward to paying him back for those defeats.
The Belvakett are coming, led by Harmon’s enemies Grant Lowantha and Jifton Gregor, and they want Harmon Tomeral dead! But Harmon has a plan—there are as many races who like him as hate him, and if he’s able to marshal all of their forces, maybe—just maybe—he’ll be able to defend the system.
But what if they don’t get there in time?
As long as the United States Constitution stood as a symbol of liberty and justice, worldwide authoritarians could never rest easy. The innate Human yearning to be free would forever threaten the iron heels under which they crushed their own people. Fueled by hatred of all that America stood for, the gathering of enemies who conspired to destroy her unwittingly unleashed a wave of worldwide destruction that engulfed their own nations. When America collapsed, most of the world crumbled with her.
In Europe, Asia, South America and Africa, invasion followed invasion, war followed war, leaving a broken world of ruin to those who are Standing Fast On Foreign Shores.

All I need is an edge! As long as humans have competed with each other (for food, profit, and love), people have looked for ways to get an edge on the competition—how to be better, faster, and smarter than the opposition. With better science and technology, many things are now possible, and there will be many more in the future! Gene splicing will augment your abilities. Implants will make you smarter. Cybernetic systems will make you stronger.
Edited by Jamie Ibson and Chris Kennedy, “We Dare” is a collection of 15 all-new stories that explores the use of augmented humanity in the near future. From getting a new personality loaded with the skills you need for a mission to nanobots that keep you from being killed to creating an indestructible tank, anything is possible!
But just because we can augment humanity doesn’t necessarily mean we should, and there are cautionary tales inside as well. Along with the “good” that might be possible, there is also the potential for augmentation to be used for more…nefarious…ends. Will augmentation make better criminals? What happens when someone with implants has their mind taken over?
One thing is certain, though—people will dare to augment themselves to get an edge. Our authors dared to write these stories of augmented humanity; will you now dare to read them?

In the aftermath of the Guild War, the trail of Kr’et’Socae has gone cold. Young Peacemakers Jyrall and Larth continue their search with the intent to bring the disgraced Enforcer to justice. With new intelligence in hand, they make a move on a known associate and the game’s afoot once more.
Cora McCoy and the Blue Ridge Kin have completed their initial mission on the ocean world Krifay only to have their contract terminated by the Crusaders. Forced off world, Cora and her friends join the Peacemakers on the pleasure planet Prestone with the intent of taking down the mysterious Hatfield and getting one step closer to Kr’et’Socae.
On the way to bring down Hatfield, though, they discover a corrupt, inhumane racing system which pits a group of normally docile aliens in a dangerous and deadly race for a stolen effigy. With little choice, the Peacemakers—as well as friends old and new—must undertake a daring mission to end Hatfield’s operation, face down the Crusaders, and set things right without losing sight of their goal… or losing their very lives.
Having salvaged, repaired, and rebuilt a number of warships, the Salvage Fleet is a presence to be reckoned with. The Ground Force, including its specialty unit, the Bolts, has also continued to grow, and they spend their time training with the weapons of war—mechs, tanks, artillery, and battle armor—and anything else they can get their hands and paws on that will give them an edge in battle.
When the Nazrooth System calls, they are once again compelled to right a wrong. It won’t be easy…but then again, it never is. Just don’t tell Harmon the odds—he doesn’t want to know them. Despite a staggering imbalance in forces, Harmon boards his flagship, Salvage Title, and leads the majority of his fleet to free Nazrooth. Only a small, defensive fleet is left behind, full of trainees and reservists.
Both Salvage Fleet and the home forces are ready to face the odds, but what if this time they’re insurmountable?
Salvage System is a beacon of hope, and a number of other races continue looking toward it as an inspiration for how to live and govern themselves, and—in some cases—for assistance in defending themselves and throwing off oppressive regimes.
But the galaxy is a big place, and many of the races in it aren’t friendly. Would these forces like to take over Salvage System and acquire its resources? Absolutely.
Fifteen incredible authors take you further into the Salvage Title universe, giving you looks at some of the beacons of hope…and some of the malevolence that has yet to show its face. Can Harmon Tomeral and his friends hold out against it? Take a look inside and find out!

But the galaxy is a big place, and many of the races in it aren’t friendly. Would these forces like to take over Salvage System and acquire its resources? Absolutely.
Many tales of adventure can’t be contained in a short story, though, like the birth of Earth as an interstellar nation or what happens when two forces scavenge the same boneyard; sometimes it takes more. This book contains five novellas that expand the Salvage Title Universe and give glimpses of where it was thousands of years ago…and where it will be soon.
All of the stories are from veteran Salvage Title authors who know where the universe is going and who are actively crafting its journey. From a dragon searching for honor to the creation of a mercenary force for good, all of these stories offer additional insights into the Salvage Title Universe. Strap in and get ready, because here’s the long and short of it…

The apocalypse is coming! Scientists and science fiction novelists have long predicted various forms of the apocalypse, from plagues to wars to aliens. If there’s a way to end civilization, someone has probably prophesized it. Civilizations rise and civilizations fall…but are you ready for it to happen to you? How will you survive and thrive in the event of an apocalypse?
Edited by Jamie Ibson and Chris Kennedy, “We Dare: Semper Paratus” is a collection of 15 all-new stories that explore the apocalypse and what happens next—from surviving the fall to getting through those first perilous days, to learning how to adapt and survive in the new world survivors find themselves in.
What happens when the nations of Earth fall to a nuclear war, and you’re trapped between the combatants on Mars? What if you need to cross a continent to get to the only safe place? How do you survive living in a Fallen World?
One thing is certain—like every civilization before ours, at some point, ours will fall. Will you be ready when that happens? Our authors have dared to look at every type of apocalypse from nuclear war to shadow monsters to darkness falling, and they are ready for the end of the world…are you prepared as well?

In the late 2020’s and early 30’s corporations managed to render the major governments of the world obsolete. The big corporations owned most of the territories as well as the majority of the world’s wealth. While many of the old traditions were still observed in various parts of the world, the true power was with the corporations.
In the late 30’s, what would be known as the Corporate Wars began as larger companies initiated hostile takeovers in a whole new fashion. Employees, armed with corporate weapons, warred for dominance. It was a bloody time, and many small corporations were destroyed, as were a lot of civilians in the wrong place at the wrong time… as well as those who’d been buying the wrong products.
On May 1st, 2067, it all ended in nuclear fire.
Fifteen outstanding authors have come to this Fallen World with stories that take place from the islands off the coast of Massachusetts to the California coast; from the swamps of Louisiana to the mountains of Colorado. These stories not only show you the Fall… but introduce you to some of the people who might just drag civilization back from the embers…
