Great for cats too

I know these are for kids fingers but I got them to put on the top middle of my door so my cats never close themselves in a room playing behind a door. Works like a charm, I can close it when sleeping so it's only open far enough for them to get in and out without being woken up because they bumped it shut and then want out. It also gives me piece of mind when gone over night on the 2 doors that stay open for them. I also did get a set for my friend with kids.

Not for thicker doors

These are no meant for thicker doors. Though I am sure these would work for typical inside doors, it isn’t wide enough to fit around my door leading to the garage. I got a two pack and they both broke within a week. The plastic is thick and slightly rigid, which snapped one of the corners off, and before they broke, made the door bounce back open more than I wanted. Be aware that if you are using these for a thicker door, they may not be the ones for you, but they are easy to install, remove, and easy to use.

My husband and I don't have kids, but we have pets. He sleeps during the day (3rd shifter, not a vampire), and I sleep at night. We wanted a way to close the door most of the way, but leave enough of a gap so the dogs and cats can come and go from the room as they please. We tried using a door stop, but the pets kept knocking it out of the doorway (sometimes on purpose), plus the door would thunk as it would bounce again the door stop. After digging around online, came across these door finger-guard things. Perfect! In the stores, I could only find them in packs of 5-8, but we only needed one. Plus, they were usually white, which would stand out against the golden oak doors. Found this 2-pack, and problem solved! The clear material holds onto the door well. Placed near the top of the door, it's easy to forget it's there. When the door is closed, it leaves a small gap - enough for kitty paw or a puppy nose to nudge the door open. When door closes, there's a quiet bump. Quiet enough that it doesn't wake up either of us when we're sleeping. I definitely recommend this door cushion, even for a child-free home.

I have gone through so many of the foam finger guards, and was getting very frustrated because they were just JUNK. If my kids would slam the door a few times, they would break. I looked for a while for a new material, and I finally found these. I needed 4 total, so I bought 2 packs. They fit the doors perfectly (2 of the doors are old and q bit thinner, and the other 2 are newer interior doors). My kids tried a few times to break them, and they were unsuccessful. If you have kids who like to slam doors, these are perfect. Don't waste your money on the foam ones, get a material that will last.

I have a 3 year old who loves to slam doors, a baby who's becoming increasingly mobile, and a playroom with a door that doesn't latch. Since we rent and I can't do much about the door, I bought this to hopefully avert disaster. I put both finger guards right above the top hinge, and now the door won't close more than about halfway, leaving a big enough gap between the door and frame so we won't have to worry about tiny fingers getting pinched. The only downside is that they do come off if he repeatedly tries to slam the door, but that's only happened once because he doesn't have a long enough attention span to keep trying.

(Now, if only these would keep him out of the refrigerator and trash...)

My toddler is at the stage where he slams the door when he throws a tantrum. I didn't spend a lot of time like I normally do in researching the most suitable solution to this problem. I'm so happy I chose this product, I cannot imagine the cutesy, colorful animal design ones I've seen would match the durability and strength of these fingersavers. I would have bet that my toddler would have bent this considering how strong he slams the door but it's even proven to be a deterrent since he doesn't slam the door as much now. Perhaps he doesn't get the satisfaction he once got from the noise the door made. I would buy this again and again. Thank God for a product like this, my mind is at ease and I no longer have to worry about my little one hurting his little fingers.

The material used is a combination of plastics + rubber. These are firmer, fit more snugly than the 100% silicone ones which are softer + can be knocked off the door more easily. Many of the various silicone ones had curved inner areas that did not fit well against the right angles of the door edge: the softer silicone ones tended to hang/slant downwards maybe 5-10 degrees- would describe them as more floppy. I did discover blue Silicone ones that had been revised to have inner squared off corners that matched the square angles of the door edge better than the silicone ones with a curved inner edge, but while nice, because they were the same soft silicone, they were still a bit floppy + did not fit as firmly or snugly as these (those silicone ones would be my alternative, 2nd choice). Ordered 4 packs of these (two in a pack) for 2 doors, as a single one placed alone can be knocked off more easily than a group of parallel ones bracing each other if someones shoulders bump them passing thru a doorway. I did notice that when I positioned the lot lined up against each other on one door, that 1-2 ran slightly smaller or were stiffer/less pliable; they still fit but were snugger: apparently, the tension resulting from forcing/stretching the smaller or possibly firmer ones onto the door edge (they were harder to get onto the door)- caused them to be a bit warped. Will see how this material holds up while exposed to air/environment and possibly return the pair that ran smaller.

Love these. I ordered 2 sets. I couldn't get my kids to stop slamming doors on each other and I was terrified for their fingers. These keep a 2in gap in the doors and they cant reach them at the top. It is a hard rubbery plastic material. We have white painted doors and they haven't pulled paint when removing. I keep them on 24/7 right now. Have even used on doors so my cat didn't shut herself in. I will be ordering another set to finish covering all my bedroom doors. No more worries for this mom!

This holds the door from closing completely and prevents fingers from getting squashed. I use this to make sure the door my cats have litter box access to doesn't get closed by accident. Accidental closing of the door to that room is not a good thing but happened frequently prior to my putting this on.

With this, even if the door is closed as far as it will go, my cats can 'open' it the rest of the way.

If you want to keep your door open wider, place this at the top of the door, near the hinge side and bingo! Door stays open!
