Actually a good mystery/suspense flick

I know Nick Cage gets a bad rap for making a lot of low-budget schlock. I think much of it stems from his need to work because of poor real estate decisions that bankrupted him during the Great Recession. But he's a workaholic and in the right role and with good writing, he's can be a great actor. This movie is a great example of low-budget, indie type movie with some decent writing and role he played very well. The story is interesting, if a little spotty at times, and the big gunfight scene near the end was a little cheesy and unbelievable, but overall this was a solid flick. I recommend it!

Tight little actioner, Cage in his element.

Better than you might expect. Crisp and violent, this movie doesn't waste any time. You're dropped right in the middle of the story. Cage is running a broken down hotel, some nasty looking characters walk in and they clearly have an agenda. There's a beautiful girl upstairs watching the situation unfold. What will happen? What happened just before? Don't worry, the plot unfolds gradually and everything is revealed. Best I've seen from ol' Nick in a while.

If you like John Wick, you'll enjoy this one as well.

A pretty good low budget film that was pretty entertaining. Lots of shoot em up scenes and a good story. Was looking for a short 4K movie to check out the new TV performance and came across this gem and was glad I picked it. Be patient with the story, My wife wasn't and left after 15 minutes then came back towards the end of the movie and I could not get her caught up on what she missed. Just to much went on. Watch it, you'll be glad.

Reminds me of Pulp Fiction. Things happen out of chronological order and then, everything connects together nicely in the end. I think it is intentionally slow paced which works fine for this type of movie with multiple interrelated story lines. Yet there is still enough action and monologues to keep you tuned in. Acting was just perfect for this genre of movie and Nicholas Cage's performance was just right on the mark for the type of character he portrayed. It was a low budget movie, but not particularly noticeable. I was surely entertained. Besides, I didn't have to pay for it as it was included with Prime.

it was ok....

Its ok, It actually has a decent story and a few good twists but for the most part its boring. Other reviewers have said "If you like John wick you'll like this" I completely disagree, The action is boring and it seems like no one knows how to handle or fire a weapon not to mention the complete disregard for caution when in a gun fight.
Why would you just stand in the middle of a hallway when you know someone is approaching with a gun trying to kill you?
I did manage to watch the whole thing and the story really is pretty good it just desperately needed more intense action and maybe better cinematography, it just should have been shot differently.

quesi-cam snoozefest

First two minutes are a shaky-cam POV out the windshield as a car drives. Ten minutes later, nothing has happened - except I'm nauseous, both literally from the shaky-cam and figuratively from the horrible dialogue some hipster writer thought sounded authentic, but sounds scripted as h***. Oh, and they even do that BS where the opening scene is near the end. You know, so they can make the opening seem exciting by showing you a dead body and stuff you don't know about, and I guess lazy producers think that's mysterious and suspenseful? It just means the beginning of the story is especially boring and they're worried you'll tune out before you get to anything interesting. I can't remember the last time I stopped a movie 12 minutes in, but I can't take this anymore.
